yes, shakehand gip has the advantage of backhand to forehand transition. penhold has the advantage of service return and 3rd ball attack.

Daniel Fisher Penhold forehands tend to be better in my opinion and of course there's no crossover point when using penhold. The thing about penhold is that it takes a lot time to master, especially with RPB. Shakehand is easier to pick up and get better at. But if you could pit the greatest penholder ever created vs the greatest shakehand player, the penholder would have the advantage.

Jonathan Yung The Penholders only true weakness is the time needed to master RPB, bt if that is bypassed, Penhold is better. RPB to SH BH rallies yield the same results. And a penhold forehand by nature is a better stroke than a SH FH. Penhold also has and advantage on service, serve recieve, short game and no crossover point. Its only real issue is TPB which has been negated by RPB. The real downside? To be a master penhold player takes longer than a SH master level.

Build the right mechanics , understand fully the movement don't just copy , and then maybe get giehr speed equipment in final case. And finally power is cool but it's not what make you win at the end and high level

Iwaida definitely has been watching Harimoto... so much choooooooooing...

At this age you are tireless and a day is as long as a year.

And even at this early age they are teaching to scream after every point.

It's wonderfull! They have a good "in pai" and footwork at this young age. Table tennis will be incredibely fast and smart. When you see video of 1980 it's a poor level now and i take care of the material evolution.
