I kickstarted this, so didn't rush to watch your playthrough. Finally got to it. Sorry you were CRUSHED, Jane! Phil's rolls were a real killer! Looking forward to getting Season Two! Looking forward to your next installment! Only downside is that, as much as I love your show, MY wife doesn't play 2-player games with me so most of my gaming is done in the game group that I started (Canton Boardgame Group on Meetup) and we rarely break out into 2-players. I think this game shines at 2-players. Haven't really felt the excitement when trying to fit it into 3 or 4 players.

Yep we have played that and loved it! We only make a YT show once a month typically because of our busy work lives, and we have a ton of games to consider for future shows but you never know. Can't wait to get it too! Very curious why this couple believed pyromancer gets to start with 5 fire mastery. very incorrect ...

Hello Mike! First, thanks for watching! We double checked why we may have thought that and here is why (not saying it is correct, we should probably double check with the company which we will) - on the leaflet it says Pyromancer has a stack limit of 5 (there are a total of 9 tokens available)- - now in the rule book under the setup area there is a specific box that says NOTE: When setting up the Pyromancer and Monk, create a pool of tokens that represent the current stack limit for Fire Mastery and Chi. We recommend placing that pool of AVAILABLE tokens below the board. Hence we took that to mean they are available to use from the beginning - the other fire mastery tokens are put aside - so if the 5 were not available to use then why would the setup not say to put all fire mastery tokens in a pool to gain later, or something like that? Why do anything at all with the 5? Can you see why we thought that? We would love to hear your feedback for the opposite and we can confirm with the mfg to be sure as we would prefer to play correctly. Thank you so much for the check on it though. -- Jane

@@Misshissproductions Yes, i saw that area of the rule-book. And i think that was a bad suggestion from the company. :) . I personally take a dice or two from a character not being play, and keep track of stack limit with the dice face. (ie, put the dice on 5 for stack limit of five). However, there are two reasons why i believe the rule-book wasn't suggesting you start with five. "stack limit" is a term used for many of the tokens. Not just chi and fire mastery. And it isnt suggesting a starting amount, but just the limit of tokens you can have stacked. The rule-book also suggests that you place tokens on the middle of your character board. SO the suggestion to place on the bottom was simply to track the stack limit, and not meant to be usable tokens. I saw your video, and wasnt sure if i interpreted the rules correct myself, and reread the rules. I didnt see anywhere where they told players that you start with 5. I would assume an important distinction like that would be explicitly stated as a setup step. So I could still be wrong too, but i dont think so. I will be keeping an eye on this video to see when you get a response from the Roxley. I feel starting pyromancer with 5 fire masteries is just way too strong to be the correct setup, and is part of the reason you crushed your opponent so fast. :)

I sent a note to them just now, hopefully they reply soon and I will keep this thread up to date! Thank you so much again for taking a look at our show. We appreciate when viewers really watch and let us know things like this - it helps everyone, but also the fact you watched it is really cool!

Also, "Tabletop Knights" has a liveplay video Pyromancer vs Monk. Neither the Monk nor Pyromance started with any tokens. Not to say, they didnt get the rules wrong themselves. But Take Pyromancer's Combustion ability. That deal 4 unblock-able damage for each mastery you have. If u start with 5, thats 20 unblock-able damage at the beginning of the game? Thats too OP to be the correct setup.

Do you mean our advertising campaign? Apologize if it did not seem appropriate for us to get the word about our show out. We will consider other ways to promote, but this has been working for us on getting our show in the hands of new folks. Again, our apologies if it offended you in some way.
