Lack of life in students in the audience. Not able to enjoy simple music performance. A consequence of the prevalent education system. And this is what translates to unhappiness, lack of satisfaction, depression, etc. in later life.

What a talent he is. I started learning Tabla at the age of 40 and practicing a lot to reach such a level. I do not know when I will reach this level of playing. I am learning along with my son.

Growing up, I always thought that playing the Tabla was nothing more than hitting a couple of floor drums with your hands, thus I assumed it was easy and nothing much was needed. When I got older, I got more into music (mostly rock and metal music) and learned about the strong emphasis on rhythm there in the drumming and percussion, especially in metal drumming. That was when I realised how wrong I had been about the Tabla and it's involvement in Indian Music, especially with what Ujith is playing here. I could never do something like that. Therefore those who devoted their lives to it's mastery always have my admiration and respect.
