So ive watched this video about 7 times now and even gone as far as to buying all 4 frigates, getting frigate skills to 5 and all weapons skills to 4 and gearing all ships with lowest tier faction gear and rigs. I have tested all 4 using the 95k-700k t6 encounters and I have to say, im having a ball in the teeny tiny things. After trying all 4 out, I myself have decided that the Condor II seems to perform the most reliably with the most consistent damage output. This was followed in very close second by the Atron II with the highest raw damage. Unfortunately the Executioner II and the Slasher II just didn't do it for me at all (and at the moment I fly Amarr!) So I think in summary I may well do a two pronged approach and start to climb both the small missile and the small railguns skill trees. This gives me a nice choice of current tech, shield tanking frigates and destroyers (Condor II, Corax Sniper, Cormorant Navy Issue etc.) Leading to my personal favorite faction frigate in the Daredevil! Anyway, felt the urge to share my own personal mini test and also urge others to do the same! Its a testament to the cost of these ships when I have geared all four of them up with faction weapons and rigs (combat AND mechanical) All for under 20mil.

I will have to agree. The Condor II is a blast to fly. I traded out the torpedoes for missiles and me damage doubled. BTW don't forget to set your autopilot to warp out or bad things can happen.

Curious how you did this (you say with rigs) under 20 mil when 4 aux thrusters alone are 20 mill? Am I missing something?

@@captainbenzie Yeh the Aux Thrusters I are 5 mill+ each thats why I was hesitent he did all four ships for 20 mill. The rigs alone are 7 mill+ for each ship. The login items are only "free" one time until they are blown up, so I wouldn't call em disposable. Still 10 mill for a fully fitted ship this leathal and so much fun is probably a bargain either way you see it. Will definatley try it out this evening. Thx for great content!

Wall of text warning from a PvE solo pleb: I went with the Condor II since I am more of a fan of rockets, the torps failed on low tier (obviously) so I replaced them with missiles and those worked like a charm, on tier 4 however (large anomaly) I had to warp out multiple times, as soon as a webifier catches you you are pretty much dead meat/retreating (I am tech 5 my build is not quiet as sophisticated as the one in the video since the prices of modules are a bit high for me) I dropped my own webifier in favor of a stronger shield recharger and decided to stick to missiles since I can stay far away, it seems like this could work as long as you keep the enemy at bay aka 20km away (which for some odd reason no longer works for me with auto orbit, since that puts me

Well Captain I loved my Slasher II past tense......until I got ambushed in a Null .2 Zone and was destroyed before I could get away.....(Humming Death March song). Back to the drawing board to rebuild and maybe find him to get my revenge...!

This video is a few years old for anyone trying to puzzle out the incredible price differences that Cpt. Benzie is mentioning in the video compared to the now and absurd prices that are currently on the market. For example as of 0452, Sat, Mar 26, the "absurdly cheap" Quafe Small Snubnosed Railgun, is now priced at 3,271,914.43 ISK. BUT!!! It gets better because once you actually tap on the Snubnosed Railgun to purchase one, then you will realize that the market price is a baseline price because the final price is 5,000,000.00 ISK AND their are only 6 Quafe Small Snubnosed Railguns available for purchase at only one station. So yeah lots has changed...but the content of the video is still very valid and I will be trying these builds out myself right now....thanks Cpt Benzie!

@@nangirb1 frigates are much faster than destroyers. What I do is I keep a distance, maybe 18 to 19 km and run the afterburner. I use missiles because they have the longest range of all weapons. So I'm just orbiting at a distance firing missiles and webifiers can't get me because destroyers are slower. I can beat up to T7 Cruisers and destroyers no problem. It's just slow to kill them because missiles take a while to fire and reload. best thing to do if you're worried about webifier is to kite them from long distance using afterburner and missiles. They can't keep up.

@@nangirb1 autocannons won't work with kiting because they have short range. This video talks about the condor, and it's the same way I've been flying for a long time. Doesn't work in other areas like PvP, but it works with anomalies most of the time.

I just built the Condor II Cap'n, and will be testing it first thing tomorrow. I love the aesthetic of the ship, it looks like a Klingon Bird of Prey, my Fav Star Trek Frigate class. Since i suck balls at PVP i'll start at T5 and work my way up. Thanks for the builds!

I was doing t8 anomalies with a condor II with this philosophy... Takes a bit time to kill the ships but its surprisingly safe. I could even leave my phone behind fighting without fear of getting damaged.

I did a T7 large with Atron 2 (for the Med ORE hulls) took forever ...

I have to say I be tricked by these speed tank video and spend my free skill points got full skill and spent 4m to get full equipment, just find from T4 to T6 annomines there're at least 3+ weber awaiting me. good job captain, you got me, now I back to my criuser and blow those damn weber skyhigh! no more speed tank, not any more...

Saw you at JITA today in your fancy 450M isk ship

Torpedo launchers are great if the anomaly doesnt have an npc with a webifier! I would use them normally, but once they hit me with a webifier, i warp out, change to small missiles, then warp back. I then change my orbit to the small missile range to keep my ship out of webifier range. Nice video Capt.!

The problem with this is that any combat site with 2 or more webifier slows you down to less than 1000m/s and your damage is not enough to kill at least one of them.

The Executioner II is working great for me. Thanks for the information!

With the balance changes. Almost every level of rats now has webs. So you can no longer do a T7 like this video. The T7 I tried yesterday I had 2 webs on me at all times. Sadly the devs really screwed over speed tanks.

I tried a 150k mission, three webs, just impossible. The bounty is a joke. Didn’t even have time to check what hit me, if they don’t change this, then like Cartman said, screw u guys, I’m goin’ home. . Shame on a otherwise fun game. To the captain, Thank you for the great videos. It isn’t your fault if some stupid programmer thinks it is a good idea to make the game unplayable for beginners with limited amount of cash.

I have yet attempted T5 anomolies in my Condor II since I got jumped last time (Death in seconds). I have learned much by this guide and will go into my News challenges which equals only me vs the pirates without getting jumped. We shall see, once fully fitted, how well I will do. Stay tuned.

@@captainbenzie My Cormorant II with Musket Railguns seems most effective at tearing them to pieces in short order while maintaining a stable capacitor vs Ruptures, Belicors, and Talwars so far. The triple isk rewarded for individual kills, completing the encounter, and bounties are great without worrying about getting jumped. Keep up your great tips.

Please more frigate/destroyer content. Im going small ships and im struggling to keep up with the people in my corp that are using cruisers. Does this ever change or am I destined to make less than people in bigger ships? Are smalls ships even viable for end game?

I should absolutely invest isk in atron 2. I also would strongly recommend if you could do a video on how to fit a thorax prototype.

Tried to pimp my condor II, but without its full speed (1500 - 1800) its practically impossible to stay out of reach in T7 anomalies. I hope to get my afterburner skill up so that its possible to reach those speeds.

So glad I saw this! I was spending so much time in a cruiser, training cruiser skills because I thought that’s what I had to do for higher tier anomalies. So glad to be back in a frigate and really enjoying myself again!

For all those that thinks torpedo are crap. Check out Wingspantt videos. You will rethink your decision. Eve isn't a plug and play game you gotta have some concept and strategy to what you are doing. Don't think you can just fit what ever I to a ship and it will succeed.

I use my slasher2 for PvE and PvP. Got 152dps at the moment With 2000m/s

Really loving these builds! Haven't tried a T6 or T7 yet, and it can handle a large T5 with ease, but I have yet to be able finish a T5 scout or inquisitor in these. I feel like the elite cruisers are packing too much damage and range to stay alive long enough to clear it. Is it even possible?

I don't think you can run these Anomolies or even Advanced Encounters in this way anymore. In the more recent updates, a lot of the npc ships are using Warp Disruptors, as well as various electronic warfare items, which lock you down and kill you before you can warp out. I would love to see a video of how you handle this new wrinkle captain.

@@captainbenzie I have been looking at that and I am in the process of building the very ship you mentioned. I still have problems with the warp disruptors locking me down before I can destroy the ship. Even with a Talwar Sniper, I got disrupted as soon as I entered the Advanced encounter by a Moa I believe or it was another Talwar and was destroyed before I could react to warp out or return fire.I would love to see an updated video of a fight into some of these places (Advanced Encounteres or T5 Angel Anomolies) when you find another ship that jams you and how you handle it. Perhaps I am entering too close? Your advice is always appreciated Captain.

Could these builds take on advanced Encounter missions or is that just to much for something like this ?

Can you please explain how you do your initial approach at an angle. Are you doing something more than tapping a locked target and selecting orbit? I understand transverse velocity, but apart from selecting orbit on (and perhaps webbing) a target do I have any control beyond that?

How much ISK per hour do you make doing this though? I only see this as a way to earn up to a cruiser. I run T6 anoms in my caracal (all mk5 fittings) and bring in about 3.5m/hr before selling any loot. The interceptors have half the DPS so I don't see how this can be worth it in the long run.

Can I ask what what range we should orbit with the slasher II and is there a reason why you have not used a webifier for the slasher II and you have with the other ships? Don't you need to slow down the frigates for example?

What are your skill levels to get those INSP lasers to dps of 57.75? Mine are only at 22.48.

Nice stuff! Especially because it's a viable and affordable options for alpha clones! Also the sneaky Firefly reference was just beautiful. People need to politely Upvote this more.

It's very tricky flying condor 2 with torps, when there are no webfires then you just fine and the damage is amazing, but in tier6-7 encounters some rat(destroyers) always carry a webfire and when a speed tanking ship getting webbed it always makes me kinda worry lol

I haven’t seen any comments about anom size. The final wave of a t7 anom has taken me out with similar skills in an executioner II. I’m wondering if it’s the ai change since thai video, anom size. Or something else.

Nice video! Can you also make a video on PvP using cheap ships or frigates? Don't wanna sacrifice my expensive ship since I've never tried PvP:)

Ye unfortunately, it's a pretty good fit for PvP still in a fleet I guess but you won't be doing T7 anomalies probably not even T6

I tried a Condor 2 fitted with torpedoes and lost it in a T6 or T7 encounter. Got webified down to about 700 m/s and then started taking on damage way too quickly. I think missiles are the way to go for the condor as I can safely orbit at 20km range with about 100 dps.

Captain Benzie - EVE Echoes This still doesn’t make sense to me (when using short range weapons) because even trying to take out just one ship which is webbing u, means you’re going to take way more damage from all ships because you’re going to be slowed down for that time. So it sounds like this tactic of taking the webbifiers out first requires very high burst dmg weapons to do so, so you can burn them down quick. You may even have to break away from the pack at far range, heal back up, dive in again, rinse and repeat until all webifiers are dead. I just can’t see sitting in the middle of a pack and taking 2 or 3 different webifiers out at once. Again perhaps having maxed skills can permit this and give u way more punch to pull it off.

Captain Benzie - EVE Echoes Ya tried this again on a simple T5 encounter with a fully equipped Condor II ship, including rigs, and it’s the web stasis that gets me nearly killed every time. The first wave is a breeze but the second wave has two stasis ships (Caracal & Cormorant). I don’t even get halfway through trying to kill the Cormorant before I take too much damage (from 2 Caracals & 2 Cormorants), because I’m slowed down, and have to warp out. I can’t even using my afterburner to get out and gain distance because my speed has been dropped so considerably. In effect, without warping out, I would have been dead...twice (ie a sliver of health each time) and lost the ship to boot. I mean don’t get me wrong. If u kite the enemy away from each other enough, then you have the room to tackle them all individually. But that’s a lot of kiting and time to “prep" the enemy, so you can tackle them one ship a time.

Captain Benzie - EVE Echoes I finally figured out what was happening to me in my T5 speed tanking tests! I was getting hit by two stasis webifiers at the same time and their speed reductions were being stacked (which I didn’t even know could happen). So I’m going from 1200 m/s to 600 m/s to then 300 m/s in a couple of seconds. That’s when I get nuked by a bunch of missiles that can then hit and damage me really easily, due to my slower speed. So it’s almost like you need to do a straight (but angled) fly-by to check which ships have the stasis webifiers and then kite and separate them to kill them first. At least one of them. Once you do that, getting hit by only one stasis webifier seems fine and you can ride it out in the middle of the pack easily while trying to kill it next because you’re speed is still somewhat fast enough. What’s really weird is that the ships on these T5 encounters don’t always have two stasis webifiers. Yet for some reason, EVERY time I tested with my Condor II, I’d encounter two of them on the first wave. Bizarre. When I tested with my alts slasher II, I went through two easy tests until the third time he encountered two stasis webifiers as well (and proceeded to get nuked too). Anyways mystery solved.

Frigates have two basic advantages over the other ships, size and speed. Being small helps avoid damage, especially from missiles. But speed is life. It gets you into range, out of trouble, and can keep you from being hit. Webifiers are your biggest enemy, 1 on you and you start taking damage, 2 on you and you are in serious trouble, 3 on you and you are replacing a ship. Learn to recognize which anomaly ships usually have them and take those out first. Also, if there are several of them, don't be afraid to try to kite them until they spread out, or simply move on to another anomaly. Frigates are very fragile. If you need to run away, you don't get much time to make that decision. Keep a destination in the autopilot so that you can start to warp with one button press. You won't have time to look through menus to select a destination. I run two builds at the moment, a Condor II (pretty closely fitted to what Benzie described) and a Stabber fitted for long range kiting. The Stabber may be safer, but the frigate is way more fun. So, have fun! P.s. watch your approaches into combat and from ship to ship, that is where you are most vulnerable other than webifiers.

Yep, I was running an Atron 2 like this for weeks, 5 hours after the release of this video, cheapest quafe snubs were 1.2 million... Up from the 10k or so I had paid. The night prior I got popped in one finally, didn't think it would be an issue replacing... And I mean it really isn't, but the cost has definitely been inflated seemingly in relationship to Benzie's popularity here on youtube.

Was this before or after dynamic AI update? I used almost identical set up and tactics for a small 7 anomaly in my Executioner II with probably a slightly higher skill level. They were all over me and I had to bug out after only being able to down a Talwar.

Why using tracking/guidance disruptors instead of the webifier? Well except for capacitor reasons?

I'm currently flying T4-T5 catalists JFF in T+1 encounters and anomalies, and they do really good with disruptors and rifled railguns. Why rifled? To stay away from tacklers - 20km total range is enough stay safe using AB. Slowing down other ships doesn't seem to me to be that usefull, considering your own speed.

trying to do T7 encounter, got blasted off, using condor II with speed approximately at 1.3k, am I miss something, or I need to boost it more? I'm just diving into enemy and start orbiting slowest NPC or webifier NPC. oh btw, that velocity rig is pretty expensive lol

I followed the Atron II build but unfortunately I'm finding it useless for doing encounters. Every single one I've tried in T5 has a ship with a webber which slows me down and causes super heavy damage very quickly and I have to warp away before dying. It does not seem possible to take out whichever ship has the webber before I die, or even if I could it would be very risky. These same T5 encounters are easy if I simply use a kiting ship instead. Shame, I was hoping to try a different playstyle.

do what i do and always have a planet selected and when u kill last npc of the wave, align to that planet full afterburner, then get range on the new wave, stop ship and wait to see what ship gets closer to u, then about 50km burn in to it if it seems semi isolated. I know, its a pain in the ass but its nice to get good doing it with these cheap frig fits in case later on ccp makes it harder to get around low sec with big slow ships.. Don't be afraid to take a few hits while being webbed when u are trying to kill one.. just be prepared to warp..

So sir i tried putting the exact same fittings on con2 as you did but for me the powergrid is coming short for most of the stuff. I haven't trained the required skills yet. So could you pls tell why is this happening?

Good vid. Just discovered that anomalies does not equal encounter missions difficulty. While my skills allow me to fairly easy speed tanking and clearing t6 anomalies, i got allmost crushed on t6 encounter mission 2nd. wave. Literally everyone had stasis webifier, was lucky to escape wit couple % of hull. Lesson learned o7

This video was made 1 day ago on my screen. In the video Quafe snubnosed rail gun DPS is 61.44 right. But you go to the market and click on Quafe small subnosed rail gun it's 29.48 DPS. This is 1 day ago. How is that possible. I'm looking at the DPS of Quafe small rail gun as I write this comment. Can you explain where did you find Quafe small rail guns at 61.44 DPS.

Hi Cap, nice video as usual. I run the kiting version of the Condor II, and it struggles with Elite T7 Encounters. Does the brawling version fare any better against those encounters?

I use the condor 2 and do all sorts of stuff solo in it. Including t8 5m encounters.

How do you handle the encounters by the way...

I fly a Condor II since a few days with exactly the build you showed in the video. I feel like it only works against Cruisers or bigger ships, it troubles a lot against the Destroyers in my Sector, they always have Webifires. Is there anything I can so against them?

@@germanvalor742 I use a Condor II over my destroyers and cruisers. I use missiles and orbit around 20 km. You're safe from the webifiers at that range, but it takes a while cause missiles are slow af. Give it a try and see how you like it.

How do you put MK5 stuff to T4 ship? It's not working, I've got notice about problem with unefficient capacitor :o I love Atron 2 and I want it, but... this configuration is extremely expensive - these railguns cost 1,5m ISK each, rigs 3-5 m ISK each. I try to make a cheaper version, but without rigs it'ii be useless.

One downside of this build that is missed is when fighting in Nullspace, one always has the risk of getting destroyed by another player, hence rebuilding. Normally, this would be cheap except one thing....The capacitor Modules are very costly running 6M when I saw them last. I can rebuild fine, but thats one drawback Captain. Lost my Slasher II and Vexor Trainer this way.

@@captainbenzie I'm seeing that with my new Slasher II. So far fighting T4 anomalies. It seems very capacitor limited. Only could only put lvl 3 items in it and T4 provides ample parts to refit any deaths. Got most of my weapons up to 4 so there is variety in Frigates. Also like my Vexor Cruiser, but it got vaporized in a halloween Graveyard anomaly when I dropped in on a battlecruiser (Ouch). They were kind enough to invite me to their corporation and return my fittings. Will get names when I get back online.

I was going to build a Slasher II, I collected most of the stuff you need to build one, but I can't find the blueprint.

How to increase power unit? I can't fit a mark 5 afterburner on my ship..

Rally impressed and inspired by the video. Thanks. Turned from a kitting pilot to brawling Frig pilot. Love the play style. I have been using Condor II speed tank fit. Had to skill up Frigate Command, Defense Upgrade, Shield ops, After Burner and ofcourse Small missile ops and upgrades to really enjoy the fight. However was being webbed more and more... making things worse for the speedy little thing, swapped my torps for missiles and now I have enough range to stay out of web range, but this makes me struggle with the cap as I cannot use the NOS. This did not work in case of PVP when the target had a MWD, it was really hard to keep out of its web range, but the target could keep me out of my NOS range, causing me to run out of Cap in the middle... very embarrassing situation, no idea how to deal with this situation. Any suggestions Capt? I tried replacing the AB with a MWD to overcome the webs, did not help much as with the signature increase, multiple targets hitting me in PVE, I was taking more damage than I could shield boost. Also with MWD, it was difficult to maintain the close orbit to stay in my NOS range. Its fun, but things are changing in EO.

Any tips on the one problem I am having in my Corax Sniper v Elite Destroyers that are the only things I can't deal with on T7 Story mission. Fast ships that regen when I am kiting and so I cannot get the damage I need to finish them off before they make me warp - I have Republic Small Missiles, Shield Booster, Shield Extender, Afterburner, Nos and Webifier. I am on advanced 3 small missile operation and lvl 2 small missile upgrade. Have tried every tactic to no avail

@@captainbenzie Thanks for that - I heard that torpedoes are more effective against those faster ships - I am also continuing to upgrade the missile skills - I already have 60 km sniping range so that might work well

I built the Atron and tried a t6 mission and run into a missiles pack and they blew me to smithereens :) can these work on missiles anomalies?

Not sure what I am doing wrong because the t6 caldari missiles damages chew through my Atron 2 in no time at all when my speed is in 620+

I think my game has bugged. I have same skills and my condor 2 navigation is only 306ms. When inhave afterburners on init about 600ms or am I missing something?

Hahaha thks for this video, its great as usual. I had this figured out before and was doing small t7s with a executioner and all lvl4 basic skills :)... and EXACTLY the same fit. 1300m/s and 95 dps. Im too slow to beat caracals though. Missiles always hit and the damage percentages are too high at my speed. Any tips?

Im working on my skills. Just decided frigates are more fun than auto orbiting rats in cruisers and the skills train damn fast.

@@captainbenzie hmm I must be doing something wrong here... Got spanked in a T7 anom. Can't find any T6 for the life of me, but tried a T6 recommended encounter and got spanked again. Can't even keep in the fight long enough to kill a single rat. My Exocutioner II's overall defense is showing as 1,544. All the same MK 5 tech. Same rigs except the less powerful versions that come in the crates. All relevant skills are lvl 4. Don't have advanced skills for any of the small/frigate stuff tho - only have advanced Armor Op.

Is the Atron the highest DPS of all the frigates you went through? Is it the fastest out of the 4 ships to complete the T7 anomolies? Thank you

@@captainbenzie what about with skills trained for the Atron fit. Will the DPS be like 200? For someone who hasn't trains any of the advance weapon skills yet is the Atron the fastest at clearing the sites with the skills trained up? plus with the snub quafe railguns. Is there a way to test out fits to see the DPS without having to have all the skills trained and modules purchased?

Captain ... how do you handle Webifiers and Nosferatus when in so close?

hi, i'm interested in the slasher 2 but i kept wondering would the strike cannon be as good as the autocannon? or the autocannon is a must? i realize that taking strike cannon would make me need to take a bigger orbit and thus can't use nosferatu properly?

So it's a matter of farms ng hulls then? Anyways leads on O.R.E. hulls I can farm or do I need to get the actual vessels hulls I plan to build?
