In this video:
I had a failure while using the DriveMo tire inflator that I wanted to share as I had just reviewed it.
I went out and purchased a DeWalt tire inflator as a comparison / alternative as I need something reliable to use on my truck tires (tyres)

Ok just a word of encouragement. This channel is worth having a look at because it takes a real person to make it. Failure will not detract anyone from noticing how wonderful the presentation is...

If you are constantly adjusting your tire pressure you can install a permanent one under your hood with a coiled hose. Runs off your motor with an accessory belt so is much more powerful than the battery powered units. You can install a small airpig tank under the truck. No worries about heat or melting hoses. 4X4 accessory. You would spend a little more once to never have to spend again.

As a personal anecdote, i have this Dewalt pump and it is very useful vs firing up my big compressor and pulling the air hose from my garage. One day i noticed a tire on my son's car was low. I went ahead and used this to top it off. My mistake was to walk away while multitasking and forgetting to disconnect the pump. My son ended up driving off later about 200 yards down our street before realizing the Dewalt was connected. It survived and still works fine despite being significantly aged cosmetically! I was surprised the hose was not ripped off in the process.

Soft start is really there for use with the battery packs, they have an internal 20A (very roughly) overcurrent switch off, so they ramp up power so as not to trigger the battery pack, as this likely is just using the dumb connection method, and not interrogating the battery at all, so you want to keep from triggering the overcurrent, as the only way to reset is to connect to a charger to enable the protection again. Yes Project farm, he does a lot of testing on power plant and small appliances.

Yes, compressing air does mean heat, and yes the hoses do take a beating. Just replaced the rubber hose on my one, because it was crazed all the way, and burst the plies as well. So put on a new hose, and a new inflator end, as the existing one was not the best. Old mains powered unit, basically an oilless compressor for airbrush use, but used to pump up tyres mostly, and I have no idea as to it's age, probably from the 1980's. All the smaller inflators will run very hot, not enough metal there to cool the air coming out, and also not enough cooling for the amount of heat generated.

Why do you have to move out of your wonderful cabin???? It seemed like such a great place for you. Just be VERY careful when testing out straps/winches/Drings because when they fail, they turn into dangerous whips! Good luck with your endeavors!

in the UK if you are doing any serious rigging you buy certified shackles etc from a rigging shop - they are tested and marked as such, must be the same in the US. Wouldn’t touch anything online unless it was from a known rigging supplier

Yep, if you buy from Ebay the shackles are likely 3D printed...LOL! Seriously though, it's a very dangerous game if you don't use properly certified gear.

Yes, I have done machinery moving, and also have used chain blocks and such to do machinery repair, and my rule of thumb for things like D rings and shackles is over rate by 4, unless you buy from reputable suppliers. In the USA McMaster is the one to use, expensive, but at least will meet the specs on most stuff. For the straps and shackles best is a set of chains with hooks, and then certified straps, which are often easiest to use by getting a rigger out to do the job. Yes container dimensions are a standard, and at least conform to 2 of them most of the time, height may vary depending on standard or extra height, but length and width are ISO standards, and not 20ft by 8 ft exactly. They are all metric sized. mounting bolts into rock you always want to use the deepest thickest anchors you can get, and for those stainless steel ones best to pour epoxy into the hole first, then set the anchor. Or use a chemical anchor and fixing, as those will always have the bolt snap under shear, or have the rock fail before the anchor. Last ones I used they had to be removed, which involved cutting them off, as I was using a 5 ton rated eye bolt, a M16 rawl anchor, and epoxy to hold the lot together. I tried to undo the eye bolt, but it was all one. Other side only 3 ton, I did not have to winch down the 400kg motor and gearbox there. When it was time to move it they came in handy to hold chunks, while dismantling to fit through the doors. I hired a rigging company......
