VIDEO DESCRIPTION:
Check out Simon's 2005 Dodge Sprinter 2500 T1n beach van! Simon has been living the van life since the 1980's when he was traveled across Europe as a professional surfer. His knowledge and insight of van conversions is amazing. Manned with his and his wife's priority list, Simon doesn't try and recreate the wheel while doing this van conversion. Using different hacks and Ikea products he is able to make the style uniform throughout the van. The Ikea cabinet hacks and especially the Ikea entertainment center hack as a third bed is amazing! The garage is huge and holds up to 6 surfboards and 2 mountain bikes; with room for gear storage, water storage and the Victron Energy storage center. The outdoor tequila bar is a must have for the beach in our opinion.
Thanks and Cheers Simon!

Beautiful build! A lot to like in this conversion. My favorite is the decision to put the fridge at counter height. Sooo many put it below the counter which isn't the best ergonomics IMHO. I like his admission of the limitations of Ikea cabinetry. He went in with eyes wide open and did his best to counter their inherent weakness. Love the bed framing, simple and strong solution. I would have liked to see holes cut in the plywood directly under the mattress for air circulation. Mold can be a problem for full time travel. Too bad MB isn't making vans as mechanically simple as these older vans. All of these computers make overseas travel worrisome. Thanks for the tour!

Chris, this is a Mercedes Sprinter van, not a Dodge Sprinter. He modeled it after the Dodge. The bed framing is so smart! Good old Harbor Freight! Love the Victron products. Its a Dutch company that makes them right. I did not know they also made inverters. I was going to buy Samlex, but now will get a Victron as well. Smart move! I think that the key thing about the inverter is that it shuts itself off when not in use. Otherwise, that device pulls power too, continuously. So that the bigger the inverter, the more power you draw to run it. That one function of auto shut off is a huge improvement in design! This is a great build, functional and spacious. I"d love to know the mpg on this loaded van.
