T Shirt Printing: Heat Press - What You Need To Know
In this video, I show you why it is not advisable to buy an unbranded cheap heat press. I also show you how you can use a hat press for applying logos on T shirts instead of using a full size heat press.

OUTSTANDING Video!! Very informative! I was debating between Print Screen and Heat Transfer, but YOU have convinced me that Heat Transfer is NOT inferior to Print Screens, especially when using the different types of transfer sheets!! THANX for the INFO, mannnn!!

Well done , thanks mate , I was about to buy cheap one and end up losing money , really thank you for your great help and useful advices God bless
Love the vids and the way you are trying to help people...do you have a video about the different types of vinyls or could you make one explaining their effects and uses not to mention the pros and cons of the product...thanks again keep up the great work...
This video really helped me out. The heat press I bought was a generic brand from a reputable site, and I wasn't sure of the quality. I got a decent IR thermometer from Amazon, and checked it out. It actually runs 10-15 degrees hotter than the display says, but more than that, it's displaying in Fahrenheit instead of Celsius as the unit implies! I'm glad I verified before I started printing things, this video and that thermometer probably saved me a ton of money in lost transfers and shirts!

That's why I made this video Luke. When I had similar problems when I started, no one on forums was prepared to give this answer so I found it out myself. Good luck. Martin
Hi Martin, thinking about starting a T Shirt business, bit worried that the market is now saturated, however your video was good, and I appreciate you have to get the right machine. Cheers Alan

Excelente!! gracias por compartir todos tus conocimientos!! saludos
Cool! I don't know how I ran into this video, but it was interesting. My friend wants to get into this and I wanted to see how it was done. You are definitely right. You do not need a large machine. I like more steps, so I'd rather save money and buy the hat press instead of the larger shirt press - if I was doing just a small logo. I like putting more work into something, so I'd actually prefer the more difficult approach (hat press) .

Yes, A hat press can be used for smaller transfers or vinyl's for either sleeves or breast logo's. Thanks for watching
Thank you so much for sharing this information.
I'm seeing someone for a used heat press this evening and I'm certainly bringing my IR thermometer after seeing this video. Thanks!

Thanks for the video. I have purchased an ebay press for about $200 US dollars. (i'm in usa) I purchased it strictly for my Airbrushing shirts to heat set the shirts. I heat set them 3-4 times, going around the shirt board. It works GREAT for that..... not so much for transfers. I ordered a small batch and used my press and I have YET to have a successful peel out of 8 so far. DO NOT SKIMP On a press if you're doing transfers!!
@reviewthat

That's correct. A cheap press is no good for transfers but it is ok for curing inks. good comment.

Thank you!!!!
Great video! can I ask a question? can I use a normal print with normal paper and ink instead to use the vinyl paper to make t shirt?

Hey, great vid, but where can I buy good quality transfer paper at a decent price in UK?
Great video! So, what brand heat press are you using here?
Your video has explained my problem with my heat press, I wish I found your video before buying the one on ebay :\ Thank you!

Awesome video, so professional...You should make a DVD....
great vid
Martin Butler Hi, thanks for the video, it was very informative :). I was wondering if you would be able to offer any advice for a slightly more affordable heat press for a tighter budget, im wanting to get into printing clothing, i have around 800 to spare and it would be really useful to know how much other equipment will cost such as a printer, different transfer papers to get set up properly and so on. Any advice would be greatly appreciated, thankyou :)
Thanx
Hi Martin,i have a question,i recently bought a heat press to get me started,(from a branded shop) and have done a few tester heatups so i can see how it does with even heat..i set it at 175 and once it reached temp, (according to the digital clock) i tested with the gun ,the centre read 197 and most edges read 206.......,now this was heating up with it open , to me this seems a huge differ ...so would this be classed as not calibrated properly and should be replaced?.........thank you ..ps thank you so much to you both for doing these videos....i am inspired greatly...Rara
thank u so much
Thanks sir

Hi, Martin, Great vid! i wanna ask you that what brand is your heat press and where can I get the transfer papers? Thank you! Ryan
I was lucky Martin. I just picked up a stahls basic clam press for £200 and the guy was decent enough to give me a nearly full box of polyprint texjet protective paper the Stahls is a beast done a few checks and your right the Chinese ones are crap. I guess I'm just plain lucky with my bargain of the year today and it's a 40 x 50 platen as well :)
