History:
Jaromír Klempíř and Štěpán Rak were composing music for the movie ‘Slasti Otce Vlasti’ (comedy about Czech most famous emperor Charles IV and castle Karlštejn). Jaromir composed the theme and Štěpán improvised variations right on the spot watching the movie. The final variations were written down after Vladimír Mikulka’s request. Mikulka, premiered the variations at the ‘Concours International de Guitare by Radio France’. Although being the youngest participant, Mikulka won the first price during this prestigious competition in 1970.
