T.D. Jakes - Defying the Urge to Quit [Part 2]

Join The Potter’s House and T.D. Jakes for the second part of "Rise Above: Defying the Urge to Quit."
This inspiring and encouraging message tackles a dilemma everyone faces more than once in their life - whether to give up and quit or keep pressing on. Even Jesus faced this issue.
Before His crucifixion, Jesus begged the Father to “let this cup pass from me.” Still, he faced down the urge to quit and fulfilled His mission of grace.
T.D. Jakes calls the church to keep going even if it isn’t pretty. Keep going despite doubts, mistakes, shortcomings, despite what people think or say. Do the best you can with what you have.
He relates the story of Derek Redmond, an Olympic runner. He trained and prepared for his moment on the world stage, but shortly into his race, he pulled his Achilles tendon; it looked like his race was over.
To the amazement of all, Derek got up and hobbled and hopped to the finish line. He finished the race even though there was no chance for victory or a medal. It wasn’t about winning - it was about completing the mission.
T.D. Jakes encourages The Potter’s House to keep moving even though you may not be noticed or honored or appreciated. Nobody else and nothing else matters but you and Jesus. Moreover, Jesus will help you finish your race.
The urge to quit may be strong, but every winner, every champion, every hero - including Jesus - has felt it and faced it. You are not alone. Hold tight to your dream, your destiny, and defy the urge to quit.
