"The tank is designed with double uranium, polonium, low-oxidized armor, or DUPLO. This armor helps the T-14 stay modular, as bricks can be clicked into and out of configuration. The extra thickness, as opposed the the Western LEGO modular armor bricking, is thought to help reinforce the tank against direct hits. I don't think there's a tank out there that exists that has more unjustifiable hate than the Armata. It is a step in the right direction for MBT's. I respect its design. But we all know the Bob Semple clearly outmatches any tank out there.

I think it's a good idea to use remote turrets nowadays, because you can save a lot of weight on turret Armor, which you can instead focus on the crew. It would be interesting though to see them in action, especially with Germany sending 2A6s, that way we can see whether (mostly) modern NATO tanks have the ability to destroy it. But yes I do agree a metal plate on a tractor is still the best thing there is.

While I agree with you that the tank does many many things right. The drawbacks of the design leave a lot to be desired. The lack of turret armour, the height, the questionable effectiveness of its ERA and more important its APS system all come to mind. Not to mention that some systems may not even be able to be produced in the quality that the tank has previously been able to due to international sanctions. Not to mention that if the tank was as good as the Russian MOD says it is, and they are as confident in it as they pretend to be. They would have deployed it by now.

4:45 This practically has no effect against tandem warheads, like the Javelin. The missile uses two charges to defeat ERA, a smaller primary charge detonates first against reactive armor, taking it out before the second and much larger charge detonates next, actually causing the damage.

IMHO, the most plausible theory as to why the T-14 has not been mass-produced yet rests on two main factors: 1- The tank demonstrated in 2014 was a pre-production model, which was tested in Syria circa 2019, after which some modifications were made to it's hull armor and side skirts. But otherwise the Tank is still undergoing additional testing before it sees mass production, which is typical of any brand-new weapons system. 2- Russia has prioritized the modernization of its huge T-72B fleet to T-72B3M standards, and it's smaller but still substantial T-90A fleet to T-90M standards, which would allow them to extend the T-72s service life by another decade and the T-90's by another two. It's a "bird in hand" type of situation, if you must, especially when Ural Vagon Zavod's production capacity is taken into account.

If the T-14 armata’s auto loader is anything similar to that of the T-72 or the T-90. Then it’ll likely be another turret popper in the Russian army’s arsenal. EDIT: It’s likely that this is the same case with the T-14 Armata judging by its design. It’s turret isn’t big enough to store a large quantity of tank ammunition, and since the tank crew takes up the front space of the tank and the engine occupies the back of the tank, it very likely that the tank ammunition of the T-14 Armata, is store right beneath its turret. Just like with all the Russian tanks to date since the Cold War.

As a former 10yr tanker in the German Army (L2 A5-7) got only one thing to say, if you don't have air supremacy any tank in the world would get knocked by slow or fast air. Just like in WW2 to the Gulf Wars. Airpower will wipe any tank out with ease. Any anti-missile defense systems would be useless against dumb, cluster or smart bombs and or cannon fire like the 30mm gun on the A10 etc. The T14 is just too big, too tall and would make a huge target when hull down. If you look and next gen western tanks like the German K51 panther, Japanese Type 10 or the next American MBT. Small, fast and stealthy is the way to go.

Sure, the Armata looks good - on paper, but given the Russian limitations with high-tech systems I very much doubt that it's anything more than a paper tiger. The crew may be fairly well protected, but I doubt the effectiveness of the anti-missile defences and think that top-down attack munitions will still kill these tanks. They retain the auto-loader/carousel system and will be just as vulnerable to ammo cooking off after being hit as their older tanks. No hatches or blast panels means their turrets will fly high when hit.

It was just in the news that Armata will not be mass produced, as the factory for it is empty of machinery. Sanctions prevented the start of the production, as said machines were supposed to be Western, and even with those, lack of electrical components were the final nail to the coffin. Those already existing were so expensive to make, as they are hand built, that the whole project has been shelved at least for now. So, Armata is the Paper Kitten of the Paper Tiger. A promising curiosity.

The T-14 Armata is a Russian main battle tank based on the Armata Universal Combat Platform. The Russian Army initially planned to acquire 2,300 T-14s between 2015 and 2020. By 2018, production and fiscal shortfalls delayed this to 2025, before Russia announced the apparent cancellation of the main show run on 30 July 2018. However, as of 2021, the Russian state-owned TASS media agency claimed the Armata had been expected to begin serial production in 2022, with the delivery of a test batch of 100 to the 2nd Guards Tamanskaya Motor Rifle Division expected to begin in 2022. The tanks are planned to only be officially transferred after completing all state tests. In December 2021 the Russian state conglomerate Rostec stated that serial production had commenced, with "more than 40" Armata tanks anticipated to be delivered to Russian troops after 2023.

Sure the treads would leave some scratches on the pavement. All it needs are some cameras for the blind spots, cameras for the front and rear of the tank, and you have a custom tank. Put some rubber tank tread pads, and thr tank can be more traversable. With some precision maneuvering. The name i would put for my ideal tank, the karen hunter

I may be young but I've even taken an interest into military engineering , and I'm working on a project known as the KPz a8 / Leviathan tiger , it has a 183 mm a gun with a high-velocity 75 mm a gun very similar in length to the pz IV g , h and js 75 that has the capability of firing apfsds heat fs and solid shot aphe , the 75 mm gun Can-Am left and right five degrees up and down 10 to 12 degrees individually and separately from the 183 mm , the reason why so that way range-finding at a distance is a lot easier because both of the guns will have two different shell distances , mostly due to the weight , size , and shape of the shell , and most tanks that have two guns both guns aim evenly even if they're two separate calibers, the other thing is is that I want to make this Leviathan three men operated as well , one man can control everything in the turret due to the fact that most thing is electronically controlled with remotes , there will be omnidirectional cameras with thermal and night vision optics , there will be anti-aircraft auto guns that can also be used as anti infantry which also have the capability of firing apfsds and APDS , there will be two different models one of them being for supporting infantry and even carrying infantry and the other one will be a mix between an infantry fighting vehicle and a mbt , the Leviathan tiger will also have a 25 mm minigun that is remote controlled and can be pulled into the hatch so that way I could be easily reloaded , along with a 20 mm gun on the back very similar to the one that the k pz-70 has in the first place , the tank will have over 200 millimeters of solid steel in the front 150 ml of solid steel on the sides and 100 on the back , on the turret face will have 300 mm on the sides and rear are all going to be 150 mm , the tank will have a composite screening bolted onto it , along with having a bunch of era that is equivalent to 30 mm each piece and each piece of era is bolted onto a triangular piece of bolted on metal that is also bolted on top of the composite screening lol so you get protection from heat fs and sabot , it will have a system very similar to the one that's on the Black Knight ircm defense basically , one of the interesting things that I want to mention is that it'll only have 45 rounds for the main caliber gun but can carry 60, 75 mm rounds and the 183 mm gun can fire barrel fired anti-tank guided missiles , the problem is is that I have a weight issue and a price problem with this tank as it's going to cost almost thirty-five million per unit with the amount of over-engineering on doing but the point of this tank is not to have many it's to have one tank that can do everything and be even more supportive in a squad with four other tanks with the Leviathan tiger being the heavy tank out of the entire group basically that can also speed up and catch up to medium battle tanks /mbts hopefully I can get the idea patented because I feel like the Abrams is a good tank with the United States military need something new and refreshing I understand the term if it ain't broke don't fix it but if a 20 mm a gun from WWII can pierce the rear side of an Abrams I really don't think the Abrams is the best tank on the field especially with Sweden and Germany and Russia coming out with new prototypes same as China that not only look like they will tear into the Abrams but will literally tear into the abrams lol thank you to anybody who is reading my comment good luck to everybody and may you all find peace in your domains

The T-14 armata is starting to become a pipe dream for the Russian military seeing that it’s still not in active service and how it still is constantly falling short of its demands. The first time this tank showed itself during the parade, one of them ended up breaking down in the middle of the parade rehearsals and had to be towed away. And even if 132 have supposedly been delivered, it’s likely that only around of tenth of that are fully operational. Yet the ones that are apparently operational are still in the pre-production phase. And with Russia being heavily sanctioned since the war in Ukraine, it’s very unlikely that we’ll even see more of these rolling off the production lines anytime soon since Russia relies on western components for the military equipment, including its most modern ones like the T-14.
