16 bits are. Obviously, a more simple sound than the definition of a normal song in 32 bits, 48000 hrz, etc. And its normal for some people to like a more simple sound instead of the real. Thats why some people like por a distorded guitar than the definition of an acustic. And probably thats why you, and so people, like music in 16, and some time 8 bits too.

well this is alright but ive noticed that at times (at least in needles and deer dance, and a small section of prison song) that this tends to speed up and doesnt match the tempo of the original. I have noticed this in other soundfont videos and wonder how everyone is unable to get the correct tempo.

The original is unquantized. The soundfont versions are most likely quantized. Unquantized music has tempo variations that quantized music doesnt
