The Nigerian Chapter of the System Dynamics Society is putting together some seminars to teach system dynamics to beginners across different walks of life. We are starting this with System Dynamics Building Blocks for Beginners.
If are you interested in learning how to build simple system dynamics models, participate in group model building, or understand the feedback structures of important systems, then these seminar events are for you.
1ST OF THE SEMINAR SERIES
In this first seminar, Ivan Taylor walked us through concepts like stocks, flows, converters, feedback loops, connectors, etc by building a simple Nigerian population model

This is a great presentation, can we apply it for understanding in system dynamics for drinking water supply sustainability?

Thank you for your kind words! Absolutely, the principles of system dynamics are versatile and can be applied to a wide range of fields, including the sustainability of drinking water supply. We encourage researchers and professionals to leverage system dynamics in exploring such critical issues. Keep up the curiosity, and please let us know if you have any further questions!

The software is Vensim and it has a free PLE licence (for students and academis). For python there is PySD library but the documentation is very poor.
