I remember this game. I fell asleep around around the middle of the 2nd half and woke up right before the 5OT confused as shit lol. I thought they were showing the rerun of the game, but no, the game was still going strong lmao.

I still love it. Xavier, Creighton and Butler have all proven strong additions to the conference. I loved the old Big East, but the basketball exclusive model seems sustainable and it will sprout again... at the expense of smaller conferences of course.

Randy Moser UB? Buffalo I'm guessing...they'd be a good fit, don't know if they have a D1 football program or not though. The Bonnies would definitely be a solid addition, the A10 has several schools that would fit well in the Big East (URI, Davidson, etc.) It would be a shame to tear apart that conference as they have history of their own, but if the Big East could attract some of the better A10 programs the conference would be a powerhouse yet again.

I was 8 years old, my bday was the next day. I remember staying up laying in my bed at night watching this entire game like it was last night, sports give some of the best memories I’ll never forget that night I was so happy watching the 6OTs and cuse got the win I remember the clock striking midnight and thinking it was now my bday as I watch this game great way to start my 9th bday.
I turned this game on 6 minutes after the start. I had work very early the next morning and wanted to go to bed...but...I...couldn't...take my eyes away from the game. I ended up NOT sleeping that night - with NO regrets, mind you - because I had just watched an AWESOME match between 2 of the nations powerhouses...I certainly won't forget it.
Best game ever, hands down!! Syracuse is my squad and I wish the Big East never died off. Even for football. The Big East conference was the best conference for east coast athletes.

Greatest game in college basketball history. Epic win for the Cuse!
I think Kemba Walker is the only guy from this game who's actually had a pro career. Flynn got replaced by Rubio, the very next pick in their draft in Minnesota. And Thabeet sorta of fizzled out as a bust in Memphis. And I don't recognize any other guys except maybe AJ Price. (But I could be thinking of a different Price.)

Jack Moody Hey, at least you guys weren't the Wolves, who had the 5th and 6th picks before the Warriors took Curry at 7th. Besides, Memphis chose Thabeet for the same reason Portland chose Bowie. The Blazers had SG Clyde Drexler (HOF, 3 Finals Appearances, 2 with POR, and a ring with HOU) when they selected Bowie. The Grizzlies were looking at a backcourt of PG Mike Conley (who's pretty good) and SG OJ Mayo (who was good in Memphis, but is now average.) On paper, Memphis actually made the right choice with going with someone like Thabeet. Which is strange.

This night will forever be remembered in sports history! It truly was a game for the ages
Best game I've ever watched.
Back when espn was good....
i will never forget this game
I remember watching this game in person. And I was like wow. These teams are tough as hell if they are going through all of them OT’s.
I have the entire game on DVD I watch it constantly because it's so epic!! I've always been a Syracuse fan and now I go there. CUSEEEE. #1 baby.
I started watching this game near the end of regulation and watched all 6 OT's, I was spent just watching the game and got tired just watching this replay 12 years later
watched this on my moms TV in Syracuse and remember us all being tired in school next day lol, other than when we won it all in 2003 this was the best moment to be a syracuse basketball fan
I watched every second of this game, freakin unbelievable.
one of the best games ive ever watched
I remember going to bed at the end of the 2nd OT. Got back up 1hr later to get a drink of water and turned on the tv to see who won and it was in the 6th OT!!! I will never forget that long as I live. I'm a UNC fan but that game was EPIC!
I was delivering pizza on SU campus that night, listening to the game in my car most of the time. Man, that's a night i wont soon forget!
Still the best college basketball game ever played
These commentators are amazing.
Best game ive ever watched, big east tournament never disapoints

Thank you very much, football, for ensuring moments like these will forever be nothing more than history.

One of the greatest off all time!!!! They need to bring back that Big East...best basketball conference ever
I remember driving my truck while working listening to this on the radio in the mountains of vermont
That was a game of who has that most heart. Amazing.
I was there with my dad...absolute classic! Shout out to New Haven, CT...UConn lost but didn't have to go to school the next day!
Watched this game live & I was exhausted by the end of it 😂
Greatest basketball game ive every watched
I started watching this game in my dorm maybe 30 minutes before I had my afternoon class. Then it went to OT and I figured I had enough time for that. But then it went into the 2nd, 3rd, 4th OTs. One of my roommates had gone to run errands earlier on, and couldn't believe I was still watching the same game. Long story short: I didn't go to my class because it had about ten more minutes to go by the time this game ended.
I watched this hole game stsrt to end and I had a math test worth 80% of my grade and didint get no sleep
Not the greatest, but the funnest game I ever watched. Tuned in late in the second half, decided to watch the rest and then it was past 1 AM. Good times.

Even though the Huskies lost this was an amazing game
the longest highlight I've ever seen, the do the whole NBA highlights in this amount of time
And Kemba Walker was born
this game was incredible!
These guys still had amazing energy even with 6 OT!
UConn had the lead in each of the first 5 OT's. I still can't believe they didn't win this one. Watched the whole thing when it happened though, best decision of my life.
I remember being at a taco shop watching with the boys and talked the owner into keeping the joint open till the game was over 😅
I remember watching this game with my bother and dad. We had to be quiet bc everyone else was sleeping.
I got tired just watching that lol
such a great game so dramatic just amazing. Big East Tournament this week!

I remember I couldn't go to sleep that night and I turned the TV on and saw Uconn was playing in OT and sat down to watch. By the end of the 2nd OT I actually wanted to go to sleep now but it was such a good game I couldn't stop watching! Even though Uconn lost it was the craziest game i've ever seen
The greatest game I've ever seen!
I remember watching that game 15 years ago. Me, my mother, and my sister were up all night and it was over by about midnight. I was like, when is this game gonna end? These guys are gonna be worn out whoever wins in the next game.
5 years ago today… wow! Watched this whole game!
I remember this game, i was watching it a few years ago and was up til about 11:00 watching it during 3 OT, i eventually went to bed but wished i stayed up to watch it
Epic. Proud of my boys in orange :)
I remember this game. It was freaking' insane. This is one of the reasons I love basketball soo much. ;D Then a month later that year, NBA fans were treated with the Celtics vs Bulls series.
wow this was already 4 years ago? almost 5? i remember watching this game like it was yesterday!

this could possibly be the longest highlight in Sportscenter history

2022 Baby
I couldn't help but watch this again after the Notre Dame - Louisville epic tonight!
Two of the 2009 draft busts in the same game. Flynn had injuries but Thabeet was a certified bust
best ncaab game ever
I was watching some other college bball game with a friend of mine and we switched over at the end of that one. LITTLE DID WE EVER REALIZE...
Good call by the ref on the potential game-winner by Devendorf - it was still clearly on his fingertips.
RIP John Saunders
i remember i went to bed after the first half. i woke up at like 1:30 in the morning turned on the radio and the announcer said "alright, were about ready for our 6th overtime!" i couldnt believe it. but uconn lost....
shoutout to Steve Levy who kept the excitement the entire 6 minute highlight.
When he says "Kemba Walker of all people" I think he meant like he's a little guard, and you wouldn't expect him to get that tough rebound and put back. He didn't mean it like "It's just some random guy, who woulda thought he'd make the game winner."
Its fun to see how SC has evolved
2 fingertips of Deviendorf nearly denied us all of this magic
