There is an argument to be made that Mario Chalmers' shot in the 2008 National Championship is the most important clutch shot in NCAA Tournament history. 7:02 1) It happened it the championship game, so that makes it automatically more important than all other clutch shots that happened in earlier rounds of the tournament. 2) Two other shots that happened in the championship game were Jenkins shot to win against UNC and Charles dunk of the airball to lift NC State over Houston. Those were game winners, but in both cases the games were tied when those shots went in. Had Jenkins missed or Charles missed those games go into overtime. If Chalmers misses his shot the game is over and Memphis wins the title. 3) It was found out a few months later that Memphis had an ineligible player on its team and had to vacate all their wins from that season. Had they won the title they would've had to vacate that as well. Not only did Chalmers' shot prevent Kansas from losing by sending the game into overtime, but it also prevented there from being no champion whatsoever as the championship does not go to the runner up. There just would've been no champion for that season, making the season kind of pointless. This is just an opinion however and if you have a different one it's fine.

Buzzer beaters are all good and dandy but the greatest March Madness was 1997 when Arizona took down THREE number 1 seeds to win it all. With the likes of Mike Bibby, Miles Simon, and the great Jason Terry, this team had the God's on their side. These 3 teams they beat weren't just 1-seeds, they were three of the most storied names in basketball: NORTH CAROLINA with Vince Carter. KENTUCKY with Ron Mercer. KANSAS with Paul Pierce. Now THAT'S a most memorable moment of all time. Buzzer beaters happen all the time... this doesn't.

@@instig8torConsidering that Kansas and Memphis were pretty much dead even in a lot of statistical categories for the season: Points Per Game: KU: 80.7 Memphis 80.2 Opponents Points Per Game: KU: 61.3 Memphis: 61.6 Rebounds Per Game: KU 38.7 Memphis 40.8 Blocks Per Game: KU 6.0 Memphis 6.2 Kansas had only 3 losses and Memphis ended with 2 losses and considering the Big 12 was a much tougher conference, than Conference USA was back in 2008, I don't think that Memphis was that much more athletic or talented than Kansas' team was.
March madness gonna be so lit this year but Houston’s winning it
Man, how could you not include the Murray State buzzer beater over Vandy?
I remember that Tyus Edney ucla shot.
18:12 may be the greatest pass I have ever seen
jordon pool is crazy after hitting that shot against Houston
Kris Jenkins will never pay for a cheesesteak or cream cheese ever again in his life
The st Peter's run was the best
Imagine coming back to school the day after
Jordan definitely saw a baddie for that second shot and knew what he had to do
As I am watching march madness right now
No Morehead st over Louisville in 2011?
greatest march madness MENS moments* i was expecting to at least see Arike Ogunbowale back to back game winners
It’s always Kentucky or Purdue getting upset
18:21 Holy mother of choke...
How do you not have Illinois coming back against Arizona in the semifinal in 2005? Down by like 15 with like 4 minutes to go
Danny Ainge BYU vs Notre Dame 1981, length of the court layup for the win.
The saint peters one is the best in my opinion
10:34 After this game, Gonzaga said in the post-game they named this play "Villanova" after the first clip in this video.
How in the sam hell do you make this kind of video and not include perhaps the best and most exciting NCAA tournament games in history? K-State/Xavier in double OT almost caused Gus Johnson to have a stroke, and gave us one of the great impromptu Gus-isms of all time, referring to Jacob Pullen, as he hit a 3 late in double overtime: "He's in shape!"
5:30 is krazy 💨💨
9:47 is a travel by the UVA player. Not a UVA or Purdue fan, just an observation.
So Will Bynum last second shot for GT vs Oklahoma State in the 2004 FINAL FOUR doesn’t make the list???
fun fact- when Loyola went to the final four they won their first three games by a combined total of 4 points edit: the proof that those weren't just lucky games is that they won their 4th game by 16, and when they lost to Michigan, I remember actually crying after this (I was like 8 years old) they were leading the whole game, (they were up by 7 at half) and ended up losing by about 10, but they were leading against a 3 seed for the whole game.
See you next year
lives in tenn that hurt
Where is Illinois Arizona elite 8?
No VCU or George Mason? That's crazy.
🎉
how do you forget kemba walker game winning shot and he made dude fall all for the championship..sheesh
What’s the odds of 4&7 being the numbers across the whole score board 😂
got dang man KY had birth alot of players man and only.1 chip ha
Nc st vs Marquette and Purdue vs Gonzaga
That UCLA loss hurt me to watch. Still can’t believe he made that😭
2010 2014 2017 2018 2019 2023 were some of the greatest tournaments ever
Northern Iowa threw That a&m game
purdue, huston, zags literally get beaten everytime
No Kimba at UConn?!?!? Shiiidddd
Can we add the sheer fact that 3 out of 4 of the 2024 March madness final 4 finalist are not big schools in most sports Purdue ( an ENGINEERING SCHOOL) North Carolina state ( last won the title when I was not even a year old (1985 , the tournament was in March I was born in December 1984 ) Alabama ( A FOOTBALL SCHOOL
Govs over the Illini in '87 still a favorite - kzread.info/dash/bejne/kYl8pJmcnJrIqco.htmlsi=gAF6PURKMNMjx9N6 -- Let's Go Peay!
The FD win over Purdue and UMBC over Virginia should have been included. 16 seeds over a 1
No cardiac Kemba is criminal

Yes, he had a great tournament but there was never an insane moment besides the “Cardiac Kemba” shot he hit in the Big East tournament. That shot wasn’t in the actual march madness tournament
Sorrentine, from the parking lot.
How nasty was the unc over Kentucky win though?! And remind me how many of the guys on unc made it to the nba? Maybe Justin Jackson ? While Kentucky had monk, fox, adebayo?

i was at the game, rooting for houston, everybody was on there feet jumping and shouting and as soon as the shot went in houstons crowd went so silent you could hear your own heartbeat. thats literally how quite it got. 🤣
14:20 "The shot"
