A lot of great tips in here. I’m going to have to rewatch this a few times with my Syntakt in front of me!

How am I going to manage 24 tracks between the ST, DT, DN and maintain my sanity? Help me.

I hope the Digitone will get updates to support LFOs on the effects. That would be super useful.

Have been saying this since I’ve had my Digitone. When it was announced that this box had a FX track, it was an instant buy. Can’t wait for it to arrive.

This makes me even more excited. I don’t understand how everyone got the memo about this drop but not me. Preordered on launch day, and will be waiting till June.

Great video that absolutely reflects my excitement for the synth and it's potential. It does a lot (even in terms of comparison with the rest of the Elektron lineup) in a tiny form factor and should age beautifully with what appears to be an already stellar kit with intentionally provided room to grow ala updates. This thing isn't under the radar by any stretch, but absolutely has all the makings of a classic.

I have a question about retrig , can we use them at the same time as keyboard mode ? Exellent video !!

Amazing that we can now PLock things like delay... yummy! Is there some kind of slide to smooth out transitions between steps?

no slide trigs at the moment but! you can kinda fake it with LFO's and P-locks with some clever programming ;)

Hoping elektron supports it with software updates. I feel like people would definitely pay for additional digital synth engines in a year’s time, they should add more sound engines to the digitone too imo.

They will. They have a proven track record of keeping their products supported with updates. I imagine a few significant ones will come down the road

does anyone nerdier than I know if they could add and analog “chord” machine to it through a software update? i know it would probably eat up some of the voices in the polyphony but (hypothetically) i would happily sacrifice four percussion voices for the ability to do sweet analog chords, at least in a few tracks here and there

If you're talking about the Digitone, then no. It's a digital synth engine and can't be turned into an analog synth via firmware. It would require a complete changing of the internals. You can however make analog sounding patches with some cleaver lfo modifications.

@@jdaddyaz i was talking ab the Syntakt, but i really do appreciate the reply homie 👍 i also totally see how i was unclear in hindsight lmao i don’t have a digitakt (or any elektron box lol) yet, but that is a good tip ab the LFOs which i’ll have to keep in mind if i ever get one and the need for analog-y sounding chords arises

This is something that I really wanna buy… BUT: It scare me of, the thought of learning to understand how all this works. Please tell me where there is a course a tutorial on how I can learn from the begining point how to handel this beast! 😵‍💫🥰

Cuckoo’s tutorial are the best, learned the digitakt with it and kept coming back to his video for advice every now and then but inevitably you gotta use it to learn it Getting my syntakt this week, very exited

Looks fun. Perfect Circuit does a great job presenting stuff and Mario is always awesome. Wish the pricing was in line with the other Elektron devices in this form factor. 1k USD is steep.

I’m not sold. At $1,000, no polyphony is unacceptable. No sampling or sample playback, limited outputs, usb-c would had been nice. GREAT VIDEO GUYS!!!

What do you mean no polyphony? It has 12 tracks each with a choice of one out of 30 “machines.” So it’s not only polyphonic but multitimbral. And, how many synths are also samplers? Not the best ones certainly. What multitimbral (and hybrid!) synthesizer + sequencer is less expensive than this one?

@@WxkR It's a groovebox, not a synth. Many, if not nearly all of them have rudimentary sampling abilities. Not saying it's unreasonable that Syntakt doesn't, but it's not fair to compare it against "the best synthesizers" because this is fundamentally a groovebox. As to the lack of polyphony, I'm sure you can figure out what he (and countless of other similar requesters) mean by that...

@@sinewaymusic so we all should be pissed at Elektron for saying that they’re selling a “twelve track drum computer and SYNTHESIZER” but they’re giving us a groovebox! You can call it a groovebox and still is a synth. Are you new to Elektron? Here it is for you: Monomachine: “groovebox” all synth no sampler. Analog 4: “groovebox” all synth no sampler. Digitone: “groovebox” all synth no sampler. Model Cycles: “groovebox” all synth no sampler. And I haven’t read any other comment with complaints about the Syntakt not being polyphonic. If you meant that it does not have polyphonic tracks, that is quite a very different matter and a non-issue if you want to play this polyphonically. Again, welcome to Elektron! Where “monophony” is polyphony and synths, and sample-based synths (always in different boxes) are grooveboxes. (Btw, Korg invented the concept with the Electribes, Elektron perfected it).

This would be sick except for one glaring problem no Polyphony that’s a dealbreaker hopefully their next groove box has polyphony true not that chord machine 🤦‍♂️

Agree. I’d be fine if it was similar to the Digitone and we can set per track voices even completely locking the track to 4 voices.

If just the buttons would not click as loud and cheap like they do. Every other drum machine has nice rubberized velocity sensitive buttons. Why these ugly clickys... ?
