Synergy has been one of my most anticipated city building games for some time now, and I've finally had a chance to play it and showcase gameplay ahead of this February's Next Fest. With a very unique approach to resources management and a focus on ecology, Synergy has some really interesting ideas that I've never seen before. I hope you enjoy today's gameplay video as we highlight the various gameplay mechanics and systems that make Synergy stand out among other city building games as a survival city-builder with its own unique ideas.

The artstyle is absolutely FAN-TASTIC. I've never seen a game like this before, and the houses have been drawn from different angles, my goodness what a talented artist, and dedicated to boot.. The theme and feel of the game is also a huge selling point for me, and i do love a good city builder/village keeper kind of game so this is going to the top of my wishlist for sure!
Only 2 seconds in, but I saw and insta-clicked. Has someone just gone a taken Mœbius' art style and fused it to a game? If so, I'm all in. Jean Giraud is one of my favourite surrealist/sci-fi/fantasy artists - a genius.

For me the art style reminds me of I Was a Teenage Exocolonist with the pastels and hand drawn aesthetic.
I've been in road construction for 8 years now and I've been calling it pot-able water lol. Just learned a thing today

More like Malcolm Sutherland, the most underrated artist.
Looks so much inspired by Nausicaä from Miyazaki. One of my favorite animes.

The art style is directly borrowed from Moebius, a French comic book artist, who no doubt influenced Miyazaki! Look him up if you like this style, he was a genius

Miyazaki was huge fan of jean Giraud ( Moebius). And Giraud named his daughter Nausicaa...

Seems like a cool game... I mean, it really needs a DWARF DRUID... but we cannot always get everything we want ;) hahaha safe journey brother

Love it I ll wishlist it, you might want to check one I bought recently, New Cycle,its early access though.
I played this and really liked it, but my citizens started starving and dying when I got to population of 30... my city was in ruins before I managed to get to the exploration of the blink cave... there is no easy visibility of the food situation and storage. I have no idea how much resources I have. It seems like picking and pruning is the crucial task that we cannot fall behind with. I will rewatch your video again to learn a bit more about the colony management :)
For all of you who like the art of this game and the art of Moebius, I highly recommend the Scavengers Reign animation!
This looks quite promising, but these sorts of games live or die on what it feels like to play after 20+ hours more than the first few, so as is often the case, I'll be holding off until I know more about the larger gameplay loop. Tangentially, it's nice to know you're still keen on squeezing everything into one corner of a large map. 😉(I wonder if W&R:SR will ever reach 1.0)
Just realized the game I was playing last few days, Terraformers,is made by the same studio!These guys are on fire, their other upcoming game looks awesome too, Fantastic Haven.

Ι gotta admit the artstyle is commendable. Very unique and cool looking. Besides all that its just another Pharaoh and Zeus clone. Too many of those in the market right now.
The color pallet? It's litterally all yellow man. Jesus christ that's bright.

Scavengers Reign: The Game
Interesting that this game seems to be designed to be an idealized version of the future post collapse, which makes me wonder how far in the opposite direction can you go? Can you be an evil tyrannical leader constantly exposing your citizens to dangers, or are you restricted to a version of a positive solar punk future?

I still remember your bannerlord 2 play through as the aserai, have you considered making a new play though now that there is a mod called Europe 1100 a lot of roleplay potential there.
After reading the comments i must be looking at a dif game cause I cant for the life of me see how everyone is rating this so high . Ah well everyone has their own opinion which I always respect , but I dont think the game is for me although I am a fan of survival games ever since I played Dayz . Thanks for the share , it showed me however the game isnt for me .

Played the demo, I like the art style and idea, looks a lot like a Moebius comic, but the gameplay, so far, is not my cup of tea.
