Great comparison video.I never owned a Fryette full sized head,so I don't have that point of reference.I do own a Fryette LXII 100W Tube Stereo Power Amplifier and a Synergy Fryette Deliverance Module and Synergy Bogner Ecstacy Module and they both sound phenomenal. There may be a difference between a full sized head with power amp, transformer, preamp and all circuitry enclosed in a head shell, but the Synergy Preamp ,power amp combinations are an affordable ,and flexable tube amp solution .My setup and 2 pedalboards full of top notch pedals give me pretty much any tone I could ever want or need. Thanks Michael,it sounded great!

Great demo as usual. I really liked all of the units, but the UL module in to your IR at the end really stood out nicely to me. One of these days you need to do a demo and comparison with the Valvulator GP/DI. I love that It has the two gain knobs. It lets the user tweak the Ultra Lead mode just like the Deliverance. I only wish Steve could have fit the 6 band on the GP/DI.

My adopted shredder son is fixing to record straight into his laptop with amazing results so he says. I've got a 2×100 Rectifier power amp for live performances. We haven't tried it live. He's using my vintage Triple Rectifier to perform with now. I guess it's aesthetics cause I know it sounds better. Growing pains. Hell I've already moved on to the next thing....Fractal....almost forgot..I also recently bought the Synergy Mesa Mark IIC module by Fryette too. Needless to say we are huge Fryette fans . With the death of Alexander Dumble and the semi-retirement of Mr. Smith at Mesa I'd say Steven Fryette is the most prominent and important amp builder period.

Time increment from 6:40-7:00 minutes...listening several times...I think the synergy combined with the VHT Power Amp is certainly a sound anyone could be proud to play, and I know from having a VHT Pitbull head for 25 years, (those dry amps demand you to clean up and polish the clarity upon which you navigate the strings for they reveal every detail of how you strike the notes) These synergy versions MIMIC that sound very closely, but in my humble opinion, listening to the Deliverance Head in this particular segment of time in the video shows the slight nuance of a more complete dynamic to the sound with harmonic content more infused to the overall tonality and presence within the saturation. (There's a run on sentence somewhere around here.) Maybe that's from the transformer interacting with the speakers. I am a believer of the old iron working its way with the rest of the components that make up the circuit. Perhaps when it's all physically housed together in one box (Shortening the distance of the sound signal traveling through its course) the specific nature of the sound cannot be repeated together in its entirety when the amplifier is farther separated from the preamp. That being said, the technology of the synergy approach is so very close! I know the Peter guy from Ampete (check out his Ampete one demos on youtube) knows how to build incredible amps. They have the right minds (Friedman, Fryette, Diezel) involved and they are very close, but I will take the old school head and continue to hit the gym to use such ancient beasts within my musical approach. Alright sorry for the long writing. I just totally geek out over this stuff. Thanks Michael! Love your channel. I think the Deliverance 120 is incredible, I'm pinching pennies.

Something about your signal is clipping the modules. You have sag dialed all the way down yet it's still lighting up. You also have the graphic EQ on the UL module off but it's lighting up like it's clipping. I still sounds really good, I'm just curious why that is. My Sag light on my SYN-1 typically doesn't start to light up till around 11:00 with humnbuckers.

@@BigHairyGuitars Just going off your video, I thought the Synergy was a little brighter, and the head was a little fuller, but they both do that Fryette "dry thing." And you did have the depth all the way down on the module while you still had it up a bit on the amp. Not sure if you had the poweramp making up that depth or not. Honestly, my favorite way to run the Syn module is with Gain II cranked and Gain I somewhere between 10 and 11 o clock. It's a tighter, but more open sound to my ears. But it's such a versatile module. Between the two gain knobs and the less/more switch, you can do so much with it. I'm sure the head is equally versatile. :)

EDIT: came back and listened again 6 months later, monitors and headphones, that first tone is really dark/muffled sounding for sure. The Synergy sounded looser but had a bit more top end at least.

Can’t imagine deliverance tone and VH4 in the same amp. Synergy head with multiple preamp seems to be nothing but bliss. Jus5 curious about its power amp which must differ from other original power amps.

There's some kind of constant beep noise in the background of the talking sections, wonder what that is. A fan perhaps?

Really glad to see this vid....not too familiar with VHT.....but I like what I’ve heard. Reminds me of a scooped Soldano (and a little grainy...which isn’t bad). This vid only more solidified my confidence in synergy. Every demo I’ve heard A/B’d with its original was virtually identical.

Be careful of the clipping input on the ultralead (middle of the graphic eq).

that thing sounds great. both do. best bang for the buck going. i have seen the deliverance priced criminally low on the used market. what pickups do you have in that les paul? sounds tight and articulate, just how i like it.

Shocked you don’t have an Ampete switcher at this point. Why not?
