And now for a positive: I have this aspect with my younger sister and she’s literally my best friend. I can tell her anything. We used to fight a lot but that came from us being babies. As we grew up and got to know each other our fights grew less frequent and more mature in nature. We can still get pretty heated when debating ideologies and/or opposing viewpoints because it’s so odd for us to not be on the same page, but it happens once in a blue moon and we can usually talk it out really easily and really well without any low blows. I don’t know if it’s because she has that placement natally or because our Mars’ are conjunct each other or because our Mars’ are in Pisces (though Mars is a dominant planet for me), but this square doesn’t drain me or her. We’re actually each other’s emotional support in a lot of ways

Unknowingly experienced this in a major relationship, indeed, it was controlling and even violent, full of tension and bitterness, also provocative; in the end it made sense, as looking at the natal charts, this mirrored quite well certain incompatibilities. Needless to say, only distance and the death of the relationship stopped everything, nothing else worked. The positive was the peace of mind experienced after the exit. Since I was the Mars person I felt the draining effect of this, I would never go back to that.

Once I met a guy we spoke like 15 minutes and we both felt soooooooo strong attraction the body was shacking. He invited me for a dinner in a restaurant I agree. When I back home I looked up our synastry and my heart almost stopped. I right away decided do not go further with this relationship. His sun in my 8th house Venus square Mars Venus opposite Pluto Mars Square Pluto Moon square Mars Mars square Mercury We had bunch of brilliant and strong other aspects but I just knew that this relationship is not gonna work.

One example I've observed working sexually/romantically is a softened, age-gap version--he the younger Pluto (Libra, 2nd house) and she the older Mars (Cancer, 12th house), with a lot of Venusian & Neptunian & MC energy. They bicker and butt heads, even stand in each other's way on occasion, but once they argue it out, there's sweet and caring and heady passion.

This video felt like church for me haha! I have this aspect with a past fling. I was Mars and he’s Pluto. We also had Venus square Pluto. I was Pluto and he was Venus. I only recently realized how much manipulation there was from both sides in our relationship. Truly eye-opening!

I do agree that this aspect is super hot and super dramatic. I had this square along with a host of other karmic aspects with a former one. But I am still not sure i would run away from this in the future. I do think easy aspects bring peace and harmony, but can lull both partners to sleep in the long term. Everything you said, completely true..i have this with my bf, where i am the mars person and yes he have a way of driving me mad so bad i wanna beat the sh=t out of him. In fact when we don't have a serious fight ,we playfully beat each other and i like to smack him haha. Also there is lots of arguments but even then there is always an undertone of irritation because i know he is doing it on purpose. The fact that is on purpose is what i dislike the most about it. Exactly like you said he is forcing a reaction and he doesn't stop until he have it. I agree 100% there are some aspects that are good to avoid, because this is heavy, it's not like let's say mercury square mars where even if you have arguments and lil' fights, will pass. This really leaves a mark on you and not in a way that you can evolve, it's simply a destructive kind of energy.

Oh and i have this aspect in my natal too, also venus square pluto and mars conjunct venus, all three aspects very tight orb and is in leo-scorpio and the conjunction in leo. But even with so much pluto/mars energy i find it unbearable to have stressing pluto aspects in my relationships.

OMG you're so right. The Pluto person really just wants to know how much the Mars person loves them and wants them, and it stems from insecurities. Even after Mars person shows evidence, Pluto will quickly forget and start doubting again. So the only way is to keep assuring Pluto he/she is loved. LOL

That's true. Although, in my case, I was the Mars and I was the one who wanted to get the evidences. It was like a drug, I was mean, trying to squeeze out something. Not because I felt like I'm not good enough or something, but because I couldn't get why exactly that person was with me, because I need to feel special, and I didn't. Though the Pluto person was also manipulative, sometimes in an obvious way, sometimes not so much. To be honest, I don't like being like this, and the only manipulation I used was "f*ck this shit, I'm out", and partly I really did wanted to end the relationship. And then it was the Pluto turn with his evil games, using other people, jealousy making, trying to lure me back. It's happening again with the other person now. Btw, I have the same aspect in my natal chart.

@@MsSexyAngel29 Unfortunately, that's not love: it's pathology. That's why the synastry of the two can be dangerous. And of course, both individuals need to be mentally healthy and psychologically mature ( which is frequently not the case). Some people learn. Others do not.

I had a double whammy with my ex and gosh, I never knew stress, anxiety and depression until I met her. Everything was so fast, she became my girlfriend in less than a week and we had a sexual chemistry that was insatiable. But nothing could make up for the drama and pain this relationship caused. She already had a more traumatic childhood and a history of toxic relationships. Sometimes just saying things even in the nicest way, would have her fire up and ready to destroy everything. It was so exhausting the entire relationship felt so primal. She even compared me to her abusive mother which I was so shocked bc im not like that at all. It got physical many times, her initiating the punches, me taking it, bc I felt like I was strong enough to handle it but honestly the reason it didn't end so much worse is bc I just couldn't be as mean as she was to me back to her. its like I could see she was angry and a part of me would be like its not that big of deal, why are you being so mean. I remember one time I broke a bowl on accident and I texted her about it and she got home noticed it was like a special bowl to her and she took my water bottle and stabbed bc she knew it was something I used often. My approach was to take the bowl to a repair shop but I mean that behavior is just so unacceptable specially for someone who claims to love you. I honestly just couldn't wrap my head over how cruel she would be. She would lock me out the bedroom (it was a studio) and would be like lay on the floor and sleep, no covers, nothing. I would just cry, cry and cry and ask her why. The answer never made sense and I eventually left her bc I was so just so fed up with the dynamic like why suffer when you don't have to, after all you choose this person, I couldn't take it anymore but it was for the sure the hardest thing I've done in my life and an air traffic controller/ soldier, im used to stress but this was different.I also saw how I affected her and I knew it was exhausting for her too bc she just couldn't stop being a cruel, like I can deal with a some conflict but cruel, saying things just to hurt. doesn't make sense to me. She eventually started dating someone right away, and gosh that hurt so much, I didn't have words.shit, I still don't but peace goes a longer way than conflict.This energy cannot be controlled, it just incinerates you.This like life and death. Honestly don't look back. Leave now. You will regret it if you don't.

This whole video made me feel extremely icky. (Not your fault, Jewel, of course. It was very well put as always, thank you.) I have this aspect with my mother, (her 8H Pluto in Leo Squares my 1H Mars in Scorpio). My mother is extremely domineering, and obsessively keeps tabs on me, and tries to control my life in every way possible. (I'm 35 btw!) Many years ago, she tried to kill me by smothering me with a pillow. It indeed triggered an intense rage in me, but I didn't explode, I imploded. I could only feel a little better by going to an isolated place to scream out all my pain every time it became too much to bear. She, (and my father too, but that's another story), broke my mind, but I'll never give her, (them), the satisfaction of knowing that! Edit: What karmic lessons might we be supposed to be learning with this type of relationship? What is the best result one can hope for? Is there any way to salvage such a relationship?

Wow, I so relate to you. My mother's Pluto in Leo is also square my Mars in Scorpio. My mother has tried to dominate me and keep me small my entire life. Growing up she would send me to institutions and try to ground me into the ground because I am very independent have a very strong will. Her Pluto is also square her own Moon in Scorpio, so she has BIG Pluto issues. She was abused badly by her own mother and never dealt with it. Anyway, I am sorry. I was not able to salvage my relationship with my mother - she wants me small and maybe even dead! How can you salvage a relationship with someone like that? What I try to do is to have pity from afar and keep my own heart open. I know she is very damaged and beyond help and is in great pain everyday. I try to keep my heart open to her even though I have to keep her far away.

This is how I feel now.

I had a 9month relationship with someone who has this aspect with me. I was a Mars conjunct Neptune, he was the square Pluto. Everything you have described is true. We have been split up for 6 years, and he still tries to get my reaction, even if he has to go through other people.

I have mars square pluto natally, and I have historically attracted this aspect in romantic relationships. I find certain power dynamics to be a turn on, and am usually somewhat bored without it. I have this natal. Ive never been violent or had any fights in relationships. I actually avoid conflict like the plague. But most of it is just a Bosslike Independence. I struggle with feeling people are trying to control me. If someone actually crosses that line, ill hold onto resentment for an eternity. The best way I can describe it is "I want to do it myself". If people put me in charge of things, I can come across as too controlling so ive let go of wanting any positions of power and prefer to jist be alone. Sexually aggressive with lovers, but never in an abusive or non-consenting way. Ive never "exploded" on someone or got in any physical fights. Most of it is verbal sparring representing "do what I want or go away" type energy. I have a Sun Mars conjunction so this also hits my ego and things I enjoy in a competitive sense. Edited to add: In synastry I have this with my mother. Im the Pluto and shes the Mars. Shes overbearing and Ive felt she was trying to control my life. She never let me have friends, and took thousands from me and would lash out for my not being like her. Shes a Scorpio Sun and has 6 squares to her Mars natally. My natal Mars square Pluto is the only square I have to my Mars. Ive never laid a hand on her, shes physically abused me, I still flinch when people raise their arm near me. Shes accused me of being a prostitute (i work in law enforcement btw) and would take clothes that made me too attractive. For some reason I came across as too sexy for her and she was always calling me a wh**e when I hit puberty even though id never even kissed a guy. I was invited to modeling agencies and shed turn them away. My Pluto wasnt afraid to stand up for myself and her Mars h*ted me for it. She would jump to conclusions all the time catching me off guard, and VERY controlling. Known as the Mother in Law from h*ll to my lover and my brother's wife.

My ex and I had this synastry aspect with a double whammy----both of our Mars are in Scorpio. We loved each other but our marriage became a complete nightmare. We were both verbally vicious to one another....both stubborn, controlling and always topping one another with doing something hurtful. We would separate, but get back together just for the crap to start all over again. I wish I was knowledgable about astrology back then....I would have run as fast I could and never looked back...he probably would have too.

Yep. Had this aspect with my ex. My mars is weak but she was very plutonic (with scorpio moon and all) and had a lot of insecurities. The resentment i had towards her was bitter bitter bitter. When I finally gave in to that anger, my virgo Mars was very very very aggressive and harmful. And the purpose was to *hurt*. Now I'll just avoid anybody with this aspect lol 👌

Interesting. I have this in an exact aspect with a guy who liked me. He is mars and I am Pluto and I felt like he was pushy with his attraction for me when I didn’t feel the same way about him. Other factors to consider my Venus opposite his Neptune in exact aspect and my moon opposite his Uranus in a supplemental level.

blue sheep, just looked this up for OJ and Nichol and there it was the aspect I was looking for, I also have it with my ex husband ( 1 degree, he was Pluto ) and he was abusive to me....I also have it with my current boyfriend at 7 degrees, he's the Pluto and I have been mean to him on a few occasion, if drink to much ( I must watch this ) otherwise I don't get angry. We also have a lot of good stuff as well as passion Pluto stuff....amazing it's it...

Thanks to having this natally, I also had this aspect in many of my relationships. Usually I was the Mars person and that felt somewhat better, but once I was the Pluto person, that was hell, it was a very abusive relationship, I still don't understand how I let him do all the things he did to me. I recognised at the end the extremely strong (and very unhealthy) obsession I felt towards him and I forced myself to stop the whole thing. Interestingly he was the one who seemed to get "high" on my emotional reactions to his provocations. I recognised that pattern too, I learned so much from this (thankfully short) relationship but it almost destroyed me, and resulted in me facing a lot of trauma from my past. Now I'm sort of involved in a dynamic with a friend where I am Mars and I feel these sado-masochistic urges withing me, I feel strong desire but it's a lot of lust there mostly. I really don't want to hurt people but there is this strong energy in me that wants to get out somehow.

Petya Petrova look at the strength of each planet, mars and Pluto. Sometimes if mars and / or Pluto are not highly aspected or coming through a passive sign it can be a bit easier.

dont agree with Sexuality with this aspect. But attraction is immense and PLUTO demands a lot in relation even if its a casual friendship. Pluto becomes jealous and hurt and MARS seems ignorant and dont give proper attention due to Mars roaming nature like MARS person always busy in doing some projects and hardly give time to you and this way your emotions left unheard and unattended. Forget about explosive encounters and violence.

but the sex, it's so gooood lol I had my mars square this guy's pluto with his mars trine my pluto, as well as hard neptune and uranus mars aspects(a lot of neptune/uranus aspects in general) and hooking up was so intense. We didn't have a lot of conversations though, and was a short-lived fling, so maybe that's why there are no hard feelings hahaha Also I have mars square pluto in my own chart, so maybe I just appreciate it in general

I have the double whammy with this guy and it is crazy in every way imaginable. Intense sexual attraction that leads to very primal sex. Outside the bedroom, there’s a lot of unnecessary combativeness. The feeling like you can’t leave them alone and NEED to get a reaction out of them and whoever gets the biggest, most intense reaction “wins”. We also have pluto square moon and I usually end up “losing” and wind up in the more submissive/emotionally wounded position (I’m moon). It can quickly become an abusive tit-for-tat and I have to end it for my own piece of mind. But it’s hard to let go. I am usually very level headed and never argue, but I have fought more this with person than I have with everyone in my life put together...Dangerous and brings out a side in you that you didn’t know existed. Ugh.

Very dramatic & warlike. I had this aspect with an ex friend. Her Mars (Leo) & my Pluto (Scorpio). I don't think that I was controlling. From my perspective I was trying help her to evolve and transform consciously and she was stubborn in her ways. I'm sure she has her own perspective. I guess she just wanted to do her own thing and wasn't ready or just has her own path & karma. When you mention the sexual competition and attraction, I also felt that resonated. Her Pluto (Sag) squares my Venus (Virgo) as well, and her Mars conjuncts my asteroid Sappho. I rejected her sexually and only wanted to be friends. I was very honest that I didnt want to be in a sexual dynamic with her. I felt that she was ego bruised by this.

I have this aspect with my stepfather and he used to beat me up when i was a child. He never touched my mother or something. He just attacked the cat or me. Especially when he was drunk he came into my room at night and jumped on my bed and started choking me for no reason jelling like a madman. He came into my life when I was 6 Jears old and he did it until I ran away from home in the age of 18. I think I was a really nice little girl. Very shy and smart. I still ask myself why. Nobody ever gave me an answer why this guy was such an asshole to me.

I just gott hired at a new place of employment... I have a Pisces Mars square Pluto natally. And my new co worker has a Virgo Mars square Pluto natally. And we have a two way Mars square Pluto in synastry. There is definetly tension...

My ex has his pluto square my mars at 0 30' and his pluto square my venus at 1 30'. I have natal pluto square venus and mars at 0 degrees. What you explain is exactly what our relationship has been like. We couldn't transcend it, the only way of keeping calm is keeping the distance.

Unfortunately I have this square with almost everyone in my age group. I have this aspect natally

I'm the Mars and he's the Pluto and I just want to scream because his Pluto is so low-key but I'm also Plutonian or identify with the strong plutonian in my chart so I can FEEL how he is trying to control what I give my attention to and he wants it all to him even though I have Alot of other responsibilities.

i had mars square pluto aspect (my pluto) and (his Mars) and HE was the one trying to manipulate me, very jaleous, violent with words, restrictive, paranoia while i was almost submissive in this relationship so i think my pluto energies impact his Mars in the way where his behaviour reflect plutonic feelings. so hearing the pluto tries to manipulate the Mars and being pushy or forceful while i was the one enduring abuse it's not great. and not true.

I agree too. I was Mars and I was like a vampire. But Pluto was also manipulative, but not in an obvious way. Also, I have this in my natal chart.

i feel like mars wants to impose his ways on pluto, but pluto does not agree with them and wants to transform their way of dealing with world. for example pisces mars might saying "women should be housewifes, stay in their female roles" and pluto in scorpio would be like " uh, oh honey, sexual liberation and equality!!! "

I agree. The mars person on my end causes all the drama, confusion and games. Like you’ve mentioned Ive been submissive, trying to talk things out , and compromise. I’m usually met with his ego and things don’t get resolved

I feel like since my Leo Mars being in the 12th house subdues that firey element. I'm very non-confrontational. Both of our Plutos are Scorpio. Me: Cancer Sun/Pisces Moon/Cancer Venus/Leo Mars Him: Cancer Sun/Scorpio Moon/Taurus Venus/Cancer Mars One thing we've talked about is domestic abuse and I have zero tolerance for it. I have never got a red flag from him that he would ever touch me... and I definitely don't fight

I have this with my boyfriend (I'm the Pluto) and he triggers me like noone else. I had numerous screaming fits because he manages to push my buttons. Yes it is a very aggressive aspect but we also have mercury opposite pluto and mercury square Mars.

I experienced the same with a guy before. I feel like mars is just a HUGE instigator. Its almost like they enjoy inflicting mentally and emotional pain to the pluto person.

@@joeyjojojuniorshabadoo5971 yes! Or maybe that's how it comes across to the Pluto person. But yeah sometimes he does it on purpose, sometimes he is just being himself (he is generally quite blunt)

It's weird. The person I know has this natally, so my nPluto naturally squares his Mars. He plays mind games with me and can't decide if he wants to be with me or not, and I'm just super confused about everything and just ask him to be clear with what he wants and not to be aggressive with me. I was clear from the get go I'm the commitment/deep love type (Venus in Scorpio), but being Sun, Moon and Mars in Libra, I hate conflict. Whenever he ghosts me, I just try not to play his games and stay where I am while secretly crying inside. Then he comes back again and wants in. Only to accuse me of controlling him, when I did not even act, I just stay where I am and focus on myself. In his mind, I am supposedly controlling him and wanted to keep track of his whereabouts when I did nothing of the sort, I told him to stop playing games. This is a nightmare, if you've transcended beyond the mind games stuff leave this kind of relationship, esp with people who have this natally. If you already know who you are and what your power is and move authentic to yourself, you don't need to engage in any manipulation, just your truth.

I have Mars trining my Pluto and squaring the guys Pluto in scorp as my interest. He purposely entice me so I react to it, also fights for no apparent reason. Sorry fellows and dear Pluto's out here, we all have a Pluto somewhere. And trust me, we all want life our way that's the reality of the situation. In any case, Pluto person feels rejection very deeply and doesn't want that reaction visibly obvious, being Mars person and several other placements where I express myself without hesitation, that doesn't happen with Pluto person I can say this guaranteed. Mars is and always will be the dominant one period

I have this natally as well. I find that this dynamic exist with people from my same Pluto in Scorpio generation, obvi right? And probably why I am more apt to date from the older Pluto in Libra generation. My mars in fixed in Aquarius and the subtle manipulation is a constant factor. I can't and won't battle someone all the time.

Great, Jewel. I want to comment some. I have this same aspect with two of the most important people I know. but it is some complicated. My bro and the woman I pretend to be my girlfriend (and maybe wife) and love. My bro has pluto oposse to his mars, so, my mars square his pluto, and his mars too. About that woman, her pluto oposse to her moon, so my mars square her pluto and her moon. Maybe some karmic I must know about my mars. When my whealt grows up some I want to ask you about synastry.
