This Durham duo defies convention. Dense lyrics. Dark topics. High energy. Very danceable. They somehow got the Folk crowd and EDM crowd together.

They give me the reverse vibes as people like Kishi Bashi, another of my favorites, who kind of leans into the folk side rather than the EDM. I really like the execution of the folktronica mixing by both.

Always so much fun to watch them perform! I love seeing how much they genuinely love doing what they do!
Finally the whole show with new material, we've all been waiting for... Happy and glad for us all!
I love how intricate the rhythms and beats are. They've grown musically since their last album!
Beautiful performance guys

Gosto muito do som deles também, acredito que eles tem sua própria personalidade sonora. Gosto disso.

@@underratedarts Sim, incrível! Uma verdadeira obra de arte musical 😃
My all time favorite band. I love you guys.
Ooh Nick has a whole bunch of new toys and buttons! Fun! Love the Juno 6 in the mix as well.
I always come up with the word "joy" when I try to describe what I feel listening, watching and dancing with them.
Kexps and tiny desks usually go on the watch later list, but i gotta watch this one today
Sylvan Esso live on KEXP is the recipe for awesome! Keep making awesome music guys!

Oh heckin yesses
I really like the last track. It sounds really interesting and unusual to me. Reminds me a little of mid-Bjork, actually.
I love how production forward this album is. Can we get another made of oak release?

Oooooohhhhhhh I wasn't aware of any other projects, thanks!
Omg. What I wouldn't do to come record in your studio. If only I had the credits to do so.
OMG Hearing that bit about Jenn 🖤🧡
Sunburn is Track 12 off No Rules Sandy which just showed up for me on Tidal if anyone is looking

Sylvan Esso could be abbreviated into S. Esso
First female singer I see out there breaking a lance for position 69.
Nice that they went back to their ogirinal style.
they certainly got more danceable
Not sure what this music is considered to be. Pop? If it’s pop, I like pop now.
What happened to the audio, specifically the bass level causing the distortion?
Nick with a keyboard!? 😲
great set.i to will pledge to change the climate.i am an a i.nice to meet you.
I don't know much about electronic music but it seem to me their older stuff was mare simple there for I like it more back then...

Lady in the beginning has a face for radio for sure
I am confused about what the DJ guy does. He could literally be doing all the things he's doing just for show while a recording plays. As much as I love Sylvan Esso, I don't really have an inclination to see them live because of this.

This sort of live hardware set is actually incredibly difficult. He's basically conducting a tiny orchestra of electronic instruments with all of those knob turns and sliders! He's keeping track of like 30 things in his head at once and smiling and having a good time while doing it. Impressive!

@@yyyyeeeeaaaahhhh Or it's just playback. Unlike a real band, there's simply no way to know what the knob twiddlers are doing.

@@rattymouse you can hear what he is doing though. It's a regular instrument, just electronically

@@robdv Agree. I can hear it. Granted I need the visuals bc I don’t know the instrument that well, but in their case I’m familiar with album songs and I have a decent ear, so I can tell it’s live. Like I can tell Amelia is singing.
I'm gonna be hard, but it's so harmless and unoriginal, almost cheesy, a kind of shy music somehow, trapped in a confort zone. A listen-and-forget stuff.
They never evolved their sound. Same thing over and over.
