Syed Fahad Ali came to Canada in 2016. He is a Civil Engineer by profession and worked in Pakistan for a year then due to sibling’s pressure, he went to Dubai. He worked there with prestigious companies and on good projects for about 11 years. Eventually moved to Canada and after landing started to network here by joining the neighborhood offices and improved his skills. In his search he shortlisted the good companies according to his knowledge and experience, visited their websites, found the available jobs and then applied for them. That’s how he got his first job and still working with that company. His advice to those moving to Canada is to do some research before landing here, mark the companies in which they are interested, and get experience. According to him, the name of the company is very important on the CV so always select bigger companies for your startup or experience.
