Hey everyone! Welcome back to our Fourth Series! For episode 11 we did an amazing bucket list activity in Sydney.. the Sydney Harbour Bridge Climb.
We had this idea in our heads before we got to Sydney and it took us nearly a year to get around to ticking it off. There were so many things we wanted to do and more when we got there that it ended up taking us so long to get around to it.
We started the day by heading into Sydney CBD. We walked from Wynyard to the Sydney Harbour Bridge office which is located in The Rocks. It took us a while to get checked in but once we were we just had to wait until our climb time.
When we were called they led us through a short safety demonstration and got us all suited and booted. Then it was time to climb.
It took us three hours to complete the climb. We opted for the “Summit” experience. This means we climbed the east side of the bridge to the centre, crossed over the middle and walked down the west side. There are different routes you can take depending on your climb.
Because we were at the back of the group we got lots of moments held back from everyone else where it was just us two and super peaceful. We felt like we were on top of the world looking out over gorgeous Sydney. We could see all the way from Manly Beach to Bondi to the Blue Mountains. We had a stunning view of Sydney Harbour, the Opera House and the city itself.
Our tour guide was amazing giving us lots of information about the city and bridge. We definitely recommend doing this activity if you are in Sydney.
Included with our Bridge Climb ticket was a discount to the Pylon. This is a lookout and museum inside the pylon of the Sydney Harbour Bridge. There is lots of historical information, gorgeous photography and beautiful 360 views. We absolutely loved this and it is worth taking advantage of the discount.
