The look on his face when she comes back is pure adoration. I have no idea how the people insisting this is platonic don't see it. I have never looked at anyone like that who I wasn't head over heels in love with.

I agree 💯% with the way he looks at her and the way he continues to look at her something is definitely there it can't be denied because it's there clear as day and until I see full on proof that they don't end up together romantically I will continue to believe it will happen because I can't see it any other way right now!

The parallels the writers wrote for these two were so perfectly subtle. I think the slow burn is going to pay off really well

Yes. Ive been in this twice as a musician. When i was in a group, it felt like a fireworks bursting, go too close and it burns you and blinds you. It was a wild ride and honwstly half of me wishes we had stayed friends and didnt progress further like we did. Intellectual love is one of the greatest loves to experience.

I really hope they're endgame! Chemistry is great! If they were both the same race, everyone would ship it. We all know why certain people are saying it's "platonic".

I don't know. I feel these days them being together is the easy choice. A story where they just stay friends, supporting and pushing each other is different.

My theory is that they are keeping their relationship purposefully ambiguous. Instead of forcing a romantic relationship, it could go either way. If it does, it could be a really great love story 😢

Your last sentence, I DON'T see them becoming a romantic couple (I think it'd be really nice myself), especially the way things are starting to pan out for interracial couples, it's as if we're going back in time to when this was a 'taboo' subject.

Honestly i feel like their relationship are so ambiguous (and kept by the writers) that I would be okay even if they’re endgame or not like they’re the type that can do it all.

I love the song selections of this series. Memorable one was the upbeat song choice when Richie was getting the hang of his stage stint at Carmen's old restaurant w/ Lucas (who later trained Marcus at Copenhagen) after polishing forks for a week. Another score was lovely shots of the Chicago cityscape blending with the food, as per Sydney's episode. Each character growth had their unique song attached. Would be nice if you titled your next track, "Coco the invisible cat" featuring a screen shot of the cat bowl.

I think they will be beautiful together..however if the writers keep it true to a real relationship..these two will have some very soft vulnerable moments together but Sydney is somewhat the jealous type..I wonder how that will play out..I think they can overcome it. They show genuine understanding and compassion for one another.

I really like these 2 as friends they always there for each other when needed. they compliment each other and they also let each other know if they messed up on something such as a dish they was trying to make if it didn’t turn out right they let each other know what’s missing or what needs to be added to the dish.

I read that the co-showrunner Joanna did push for the idea of Syd and Carmi being in a relationship but the creator Christopher shut it down

@@llamacjno bc there are already a lot of interracial couples on tv where its a black girl and a white man. ship who you want, i personally think it’s cool how they’re presenting a friendship between a man and a woman that isn’t inherently romantic or sexual. where a black girl isn’t just a romantic interest for the white guy. though, judging by the last episode, they’re might gonna take it in a romantic way.
