SYDEN! Rude Norwegians|YOURWAY2NORWAY

#Edutainment #yourway2norway #LifeInNorway
In Norway we have a unique word and concept that makes all Norwegians smile: SYDEN. YOURWAY2NORWAY produly presents a concept associated with vacation and leisure. Translated, it means the South. It's not a special country or place. It can be; Egypt, Turkey, Gran Canarias, Portugal, Greece, Italy, Mexico, Gambia or Thailand. To make it Syden it needs a beach, a beach chair and an umbrella drink. It also must be cheap, warm and sunny.
But Syden it’s also a state of mind for us Norwegians. It makes us happy, cheerful and excited. But it also makes us rude, cruel and disgusting towards other cultures and people. Syden makes us alcoholics and chain smokers - and it makes us sing and dance all day long.
This video is a thorough introduction to one of the most important cultural aspects of Norwegians. If you want to understand Norwegians longings, dreams and behavior, you must watch this video.
Obviously, we exaggerate a little. But the roles that Ronald plays in this funny video has a hint of truth in it. Fortunately, and unfortunately.
This video was shot in Portugal, Algarve Coast, Praia do Barril. So a big shout out to Luis Conceição and all the others we meet in the video. It is still winter and not high season, but we think we have managed to bring the points through. Enjoy. If we missed anything, please fee,l free to comment.
If you like this video, you can always press the reindeer in the lower right to subscribe. Hope to hear from you!
Thanks to Heave Blood & Die for their fantastic song “Doom”.
Going to Norway. All you want is right here.
This Channel gives you Facts and New Perspectives on one of The Richest Country in the World, Norway. According to the UN it’s also the best Nation to live and grow old in. Is it really?
Ronald, the Guide, will take you behind the Picturesque Norway, showing you a Different and more Fun Side of this Scandinavian Country. Because he is half Sami, partly Chilean and Italian with a Norwegian Passport. Best from yourway2norway, Ronald and Mads :)
Do not forget to subscribe here: goo.gl/rUw33V
This is a good channel for people interested in Norway and the life in norway for foreginers. As well as much fun, weirdness, quirkyness and satire
***
This video is a taste of the real everyday life in Norway made by Norwegians. The true story. Exaggerated and fun :)

Yes, it's an old reporter's trick, to keep out wind and dirt or to muffle surrounding sound. I learnt it at journalism school. Also if you are in a room or area with lots of hard surfaces e.g. cafe you put a bunch of pillows or soft fabrics around where you are speaking.

Lol it's kinda funny! Some of my fellow Filipinos when they go to colder countries in the world brag about how low the air temperatures of the places they're in. As a Filipino I got ecstatic when I experienced 3 degrees for the first time in a mountainous area here in the Philippines. For us here, the 37-degree April summer is just too much. I'm guessing though that this is a case of grass being greener on the other side. & by the way, glad to find this channel! I've been dreaming of coming to Norway ever since I was a kid, probably due to the books I had that showcased those beautiful sceneries in Trondheim & the fjords. & we're also obsessed with fridge magnets. Please don't think everything he says is true. He's funny and liked ,sometimes it's true, but he says a lot I actually think is sad he allows himself to say. Loved his videos ,but now reading comments and seing people believe him in things that I don't know how he bases what he says. I think it's things very true, and we can laugh about it ,but getting bigger and getting people to think we spit on Rom people, beggars and several other claims, I feel like it's not cool to enjoy so much comments about you're funny, while putting Norwegians in a false light and exaggerate and even say things that I don't recognise at all. A lot about Norway I don't like and can laugh and be embarrassed for ,but he crosses the line and it does even make me sad . Hear just shit about us in comments sections ,think people misunderstand a few important things about how" we" are.Explaining that would be better than continue to be popular on making it worse ,even do everything to find things to say that isn't right. Mix it in with much that are ,and people don't understand, ofcaurs..

I met some Swedes (they actually spent a few months in Norway working the fisheries so they could spend a gap year traveling the world). And they introduced me to the concept of "Sun Vacation." I am from LA and have lived most of my life very close to the beach...so a "sun vacation" was a really bizaare concept.

I find his comments spot on, tbh. Not that i think Norwegians are rude. But the culture is different. Like, an unwritten rule in norway is that you are not supposed to speak with strangers on the tram. If you sit next to the window, you signal to the person next to you that you will leave at the next stop simply by pointing your feet towards the aisle. Due to phone usage nowadays, you might want to point with your thighs. Try it out! It works every time. If you would say «excuse me» as the first step (and not a last resort) you would act invasive. Norwegians would not mind, but they may think that you speaking would be an unnecessary action. So imagine these people travelling abroad 😂.

Spunkymunky even in Mexico the more south you go, winter is not that bad at all. In the most northern cities like Juarez tho, it feels pretty cold, but passing that the winters in Mexico City, and pretty everywhere ain’t even that cold, it’s very mild, the only reason ya Mexicans have the signature thick fur blankets is because central air conditioning isn’t really a thing in like 98% of average Mexican homes, so it feels chilly cause most houses are meant to keep cool air in. The coastal areas, my god tho, it’s always warm and the huge fruit/avocados is awesome. I have cousins who live close in puerto Vallarta and many people from all over the place come to party. It ain’t THAT cheap but for what they are used to paying, it is lol

Just discovered your channel recently and have become a subscriber. You are informative and hilarious! I was in Norway in the 80's and took the overnight train from Oslo to Bergen. We had a nice sleeping car but I stayed up all night looking at the scenery! It was like a fairy tale. It was in late November and the snow on the mountains was beautiful in the moonlight. I visited Norwegians in Bergen who were old family friends. They were so hospitable. I had not seen them since I was about 11 years old. I have always told everyone that the further north you go in Europe the more sophisticated and cultured the people are. Your channel is making me look like a fool! LOL! Keep doing what you are doing! I love your sense of humor! Norway is and always will be my favorite country! I just love you guys! A new, loyal admirer.

Two small comments about syden: My friends always start to smoke (again) there because they are completely shocked by the fact that they can't buy snus in syden and forgot to bring a 2 weeks supply. The second important thing about syden is that that you can reach with a direct flight (with SAS or Norwegian of course...)

Ronald puts a smile on my face! Thank you. I live in 'Syden', but it isn't like this. Australia may be in the South - I notice that it isn't included on Ronald's world map, so for your information, it is between Africa and Antarctica. But we are a country of raging capitalism and inequality, with nearly the highest rate of child poverty in the OECD (18%). And everyone is either blind to the cares of other people, or buried in their own misery. I am one of the latter. I couldn't imagine an Australian having a KZread channel like this one. We may have lots of beaches, but nobody except the wealthy can afford to go to them and enjoy them. I have only just discovered this channel - I am addicted already. Thank you so much Ronald.
