I know this video is 4 years old but man that was great. I see one dislike and one comment saying your rendition is too laboured...well they can piss off. I've been playing for 30 years and Syd is my all-time favorite guitarist. I was just listening to the song and admiring the solo and wondered if anyone happened to give it a try. I see many people take jabs at Syd's guitar skills and while he wasn't a technical virtuoso or belting out blues leads like Clapton and Page he had a very unique and inventive style. I'll always remember one thing the great Skunk Baxter said: you don't have to be the greatest technical player but you have to develop your own unique style. I'm paraphrasing but he was absolutely correct and Syd was as unique and inventive as it gets. Especially when you look at him in the context of the time period. Another thing I'll add is Syd had a very unique sense of timing and meter. Not just in his lead playing but in his songwriting and his singing. To the listener it isn't always apparent and sounds effortless but it's definitely noticeable when you pick up a guitar and try to play along. So hats off to you man. Great job and thanks for the video.
