SWP short mission

1. drop off people
2. deliver sling loads
the first two loads were fine. it was windy. but they were light, NP. On the ferry there it was VERY windy. but it seemed fine on location.
I fly the two first slings, NP. on approach on the third with the compressor, i take it very slow ( as i did on the first two just to be safe) but this gust hits me from rear and left and i lose most of the lift i have and start settelig. not super dramatic but i needed a go around. poor apch angle i guess on the first attempt although the wind was coming from a lot of directions.
second attempt another gust comes along to stir me up.

That last load looked like it was pretty heavy. Nice work. Looks difficult but you make it look easy

It was just over 1000kg. He was climbing with maximum power, this is why he needed some forward flight for extra lift and did a circling climb, unlike the lighter loads where he took them directly to the offload point.

Awesome video! Interesting to see how much power each of the loads required in different phases of flight

Almost couldn't hear your "phew" after releasing the generator, due to the loud bang from my yaw dropping onto the floor. Just wow!

Hey dude ! love your videos ! i use them in pilot training . You guys should get close out kits for the sling window it allows to remove the floor window , it saves a bunch of glare and scratches.

Nice video! A question: in helicopters equipped with wheels instead of skies, do pedals have also the function for differential breaking?

I cannot believe I hadn't come across your channel before. Subscribed! What a great video. On your first drop-off, were your skids flat on the ground or were you doing the "toe in" thing (I don't know the technical name for it) due to the slope being too much? It's hard to tell from the vid. In my commercial (for fun) training back in the day, I found even minor slope landings to be nerve-wracking (S300C).

@@UpsideDownWash Åhh, kult!! I just recently found this channel, and love it! I have built an ultimate simulation rig with D-BOX motion, and I think I have over thousand hours in it with helicopters, much of those hours with the AS350. I'm often tempted to take the real licence, especially when watching your videos!

@@kimmossige263 aw man thats awesome! yeah give it go! or at least take a demo flight. it very much the same as the sim, and experience in the sim will definetly help out with real life flying. rl feels a little cooler though:)

@@UpsideDownWash Oh, I think KZread deleted my previous comment because of me referring to a webpage. I was just wondering if you would suggest a place to try a helicopter. Oslo? Torp? One that has this particular helicopter? :)

  • @UpsideDownWash

@@kimmossige263 i think Torp is probably the best guess. I would do my first flight in a smaller helicopter. although the h125 is a lot more powerful and manouverable, there is way less view, its a lot harder to fly and its about 3 times as expensive. go for the r22 or r44. those are super fun machines as well and a lot more forgiving (when learning).
