This is the first video showing a keris made by a foreigner. I was touched to see it. As a Javanese, I know that the keris is not an ordinary weapon. In ancient Javanese belief, the keris is forged by undergoing special rituals by the master (Empu). Before forging the metal blade, empu fasts, does not eat, does not drink, and does special meditation. Doing purification of the heart and mind then choose a special day to start working. On every Javanese New Year's Eve, the keris is washed with a special ceremony. Prayers and mantras are recited while washing the keris with holy water and sacred flowers. Because it is treated very spiritually, the kris is often inhabited by spirits. This spirit then makes the keris into a more powerful weapon. Thanks for the beautiful video. It's an honor for us.

I ever read an article that said the wave of the keris in the ancient methode, didn't come from manualy bending it. Instead the blacksmith at the ancient time using different thickness of coating to the sword similiar to the coating on katana blade. So when the sword is heated and glowing, it will create those wave when the sword is put into water. They repeat the coating and heating process several times until the sword become perfectly made

keris done by forgein metal layer by layer until become 1 blade. get 7 pieces of metal then start hammering.. also keris blade that done layer by layer is so that poison can be pour/smoke to be absorb at the blade.. keris is a type of dagger not sword. and use for slice/ thrust at enemy . next, let poison do the job. wave of keris also have meaning, every waves stand for hierachy of user. example, 5 waves use by normal people while 7 use by general/ royalty ..

Hi, I'm from Indonesia and native to the island of Java. Actually, the original keris was made and forged by hand without tools and shaped with fingers and fingerprints. It was called "pamor" and nowadays it's called "pamor". In Indonesia, most kris are forged using tools, it will parse the value of the kris. But I thank you very much for being willing to introduce our culture, good luck to you always

very nice job... superb workmanship. some tips about keris, the tang should be cylindrical. cause, the hilt must be turn-able 360 degree (interchangeable for right/left-handed users just by twisting the hilt position) and also for ceremonial purposes. the lower part of the blade (between blade and hilt) is called "cicak keris", means "lizard of kris". so it must have the outline shape of a lizard if we look from top/bottom (got head, belly and tail) and separate from the blade (like habaki but hold still) lastly, keris usually not sharp. it's a stab weapon and be used to cause slow painful death. the wave cause fatal damage to the victim. overall, superb job, sir.

Actually, this Keris are used more for stab people's, not to slice people's like sword. In my country, Malaysia..we also have Keris, but our Keris are small, our Keris are not sword like in Java, Indonesia. Original Keris from Java, Indonesia...they using Keris as sword, but, that function also are more for stab people, than slice. That's why...that pattern are curly like that. Because, the people's get stab by Keris, they will get 98% damage, their organ will destoy so badly because Keris pattern.

Thank you to make javanese keris. The iron and carbon can recorded the wishes from the owner. That why keris should more iron material and less steel. So it can recorded wishes well. and the arc is the symbol of wishes. The 13 arc is to ged rid bad luck.

The manufacturing process and the final result are similar to Javanese kris. but in terms of size, Javanese kris generally have a length of no more than 30cm and some are even under 10cm. Because the real power of Javanese kris is not in the goods, but from the magical power that is filled by the master of the keris maker (EMPU)
