As someone who has benefited greatly from your advice, I agree wholeheartedly that there is so much satisfaction in seeing steady progress over time. Even if you’re not sending them, take photos for yourself every week - it is so rewarding. I celebrated my healing by purchasing the sample set from Dazzle Dry and that made me even more proud of myself to see my hands looking healthy!

This is literally me, I’m an Anxious person and I chew and pick my cuticles and scalp if I’m not wearing extensions, then I started cutting the dry skin (I know exactly what this person means by the lettuce sticking out of the sandwich). My cuticles are absolutely hellish at the min. I’m going to follow your advice closely. This video could not have came at a better time for me. Ty for sharing your advice.

These nails look like mine used to, and I can attest that by following Anna’s advice, the swollen disappears and both nails and fingers look so much better. And the relief to be free from pain! I don’t have to constantly think about what I’m doing or handling for fear of this horrible stinging pain! And I also realised that I could wear any colour of polish now, while before green was giving me « lobster hands ». Thank you Anna for your fantastic advice!

OMG. I have this on both thumbs and two fingers on the right hand (index and middle) and I do the same thing as this person. My other six fingers I don’t pick and they are beautiful. I am so thankful you’re covering this. I swear that my picking got worse after going to get my nails done for a while and they cut those particular areas and I was so angry!!! Now the proximal nail folds are lifted on those fingers and they stay sore and I pick at it constantly. Since watching you I’ve tried to keep them moisturized but this was so educational. I have to get this under control because it’s making my hands looks super old!!!!

Got more info from you than my doctor when I asked about it on my last physical 4 months ago…she said “hmmm…I don’t know “. 😳 I have a dip (small dent” in the left thumb that is about grown out now…don’t want it again…gotta get that rubbing habit under control. Human habits are hard to break, but with awareness we can do it 😊 thanks for the explanation. If we don’t know we can’t fix it.

I have a similar problem on one of my thumbs. I don't cut or pick the skin, but this piece of skin (pnf?) just doesn't grow there. I have pnf like on 2/3 of my nail. And the skin also looks a bit inflamed and gets very dry. We don't have Kerasal in my country, so I use bepanthen. Initially I had this problem on both of my thumbs, bepanthen helped with only one of them ^^)) I still hope that one day the skin will heal by itself. Thank you for the video! Maybe I should also try vaseline.

How long, if ever, will it take for the proximal nail fold to reattach to the nail plate? Because of years of picking, biting, and overly aggressive cuticle work, my proximal nail fold on almost every single one of my fingers is completely separated from the nail plate. Is this repairable?

Hello Anna, thanks for all your wonderful advice on nail care. I‘ve seen many of your videos during the last two weeks and ordered several of your adviced products since then. I wondered if you recommend the kerasal for permanent use, or just until the skin around the nails becomes soft and smooth? Should I later switch to an urea based moisturizer without salicylic acid? For example the Eucerin lotion you recommended in another video?

I decided to stop cutting but now the skin is so ugly, that I really have to hold myself for not cutting.... I am using cream, dadi oil, but it looks bad... How long will ik take for it to restore itself or will this stay for ever

Kerasal is pretty unique as it contains not only urea 10% but also 5% salicylic acid. Maybe go to a pharmacy and see if they can make something similar or have something similar? Where are you located? PS. You use such tiny amount of this ointment that 1 tube would last you probably 6 months.

What are the recommended oils to use for nail care? I use an organic jojoba oil but I wanted to create my own mixture using additional oils to better help the extremely dry skin around the nails. I’m not sure which offer the best results.

I explain this in this video: kzread.info/dash/bejne/m6NnlZeeh8mcgpc.html Another thing I would look into is why is the skin extremly dry? Sometimes it's irritated (and it looks dry) and no oils in the world are not going to help. Removing the irritant will.

I have a mild case of puffiness in at least two of my nails right now. I've started soaking my affected fingers in hot water for a few minutes a few times a day as suggested in a different video. I also started using CeraVe Healing Ointment I already had at home. Is that ointment okay? It's similar to Vaseline but it does have ceramides. So, no manicures, no warm oil soaks or applying jojoba oil after hand washing until my fingers are healed?
