This is my personal winner right now because it had such a strong emotional effect on me on first listen, like straight up goosebumps. None of the other songs, even though I love a bunch of them, have been able to do the same. And after watching some of his performances on the voice France I'm confident he is going to deliver!

I'm French and the first time I listened to this song, as if in spite of myself, tears ran down my cheeks. The voice but also the lyrics touched me viscerally. He has a slight accent when he says "J'donne ma langue au chat" and this further accentuates the fragility of the subject. This song is a gem

@@user-ve2xd4ip2h yes. It's not very different from French French, they just draw the vowels a bit and it's more singing than metropolitan Parisian French which sounds very flat. . And his Rs are strong, which would be old fashioned in France now. But really it's quite subtle. It needn't bother you if you aren't local 😊 I think it makes the song stronger, though, his diction is so clear and sharp, coupled with the somewhat longer vowels.

funny you say that france will feel silly for not sending something like this because gjon did want to represent them but couldn’t since they decided to not host destination eurovision this year. but this song is really so amazing and i’m hoping all will go well when it’s time to sing it live but judging by his other live performances, we shouldn’t be too worried. 😊

This song is one of the examples that shows you dont need to dance, act like crazy, etc to stand out and you dont need to be different, you just need to be good. The song is simple yet so powerful, I just love it

For the meaning of this song, here are an excerpt from him, "Everyone asks themselves why exactly are we here, where do we come from and where are we going. These are key questions, particularly for people from a migrant background. My parents are from Albania and Kosovo. I grew up in Switzerland and it's my home, these are questions that I think about a lot." He was on Got Talent shows in Albania, Switzerland, and the Voice in France. He is a very competent live performer, you can look up clips from those shows. Apparently, the international jury was backing it, but the public panel wasn't at first, but they agreed on sending this entry after he sang a live version of it. So I am very excited about Switzerland, I feel like this could be similar to Salvador 2017 if staged right, I am hopeful of its chances.

I think I found the first Eurovision song that had me weeping every time I listen to it and also it's in freaking French (France take notes). And maybe I will get a lot of hate after I say this, but this song sounds 10 times better than Arcade.

Repondez-moi is a great song, will definitely do well in Eurovision, but Arcade is unbeatable in at least 10 years of Eurovision. Arcade is by far better than Repondez-moi

Its definitely way better than arcade, for some reason to me arcade sounds like a "commercial" ballad, where as répondez moi sounds more emotional and authentic. But still people prefer what they prefer, everyone sees those song in their own way

After only qualifying 3 times between 2004 and 2018, Switzerland are surely qualifying for the 2nd year in a row for the first time

I had no hesitation in putting this as my winner! The song made me speechless the whole way through. The lyrics are surprisingly very simple but they hold so much depth in them. Gjon's from Albania and lives in Switzerland and so as a fellow immigrant, this song really got me. In the music video, when the scene of him coming into a room full of people, where he took his jacket, wore it and stood within the crowd, I knew what this song was about and it really spoke to me.

His voice is so haunting & the song is so beautiful..wish I knew/understood more French...

I watched the review and as I listened to it, I was thinking "What is Matt thinking?".. There is no way this song is better than She Got Me by Luca Hanni.. I didn't really like it. But then I watched the video with no phones, no distractions and I now realise it is a masterpiece. I am not usually a fan of this kind of song at all, but I get it.. The buzz is real, and I cannot believe that I have this slow song in my top 3. What is happening to me? 🤣🤣! Wow, Switzerland. 2 entries in 2 years that you should be very proud of.

From the first second I knew this has totally winner vibes. It’s the whole package. Song, melody, lyrics, voice, arrangement. It’s like Kristian Kostov in 2017 but with the edginess of Duncan last year. Less mainstream more boom-in the heart. I have three very favourites right now but if we have in mind this was a composer competition, this must win in terms of overall package. I wish him lots of luck!!!

U have the lyrics on the description of the eurovision upload. Its about emigration. He is albanian and as most of albanian they see their future out of their home country so he says in the song "Why we do this,why we sleep or live in another country,why,ANSWER ME"

You're right about the French, you'd think that singing in French would be the easiest thing for France to do, but Switzerland comes in and just killed it! Also, Sacha Jean-Baptiste will help with staging this song in May.

I love his voice and some of the notes he hits here are insane. I`m not certain about the song though, sounds a bit like old style Eurovsion songs , from before ABBA, not sure if that`s a help or a hindrance in light of how much Eurovision has changed over the years

They look ridiculous because Gjon wanted to send this song to Destination Eurovision this year but the French delegation decided to get rid of it and chose a song that will finish bottom 5 at Eurovision. If you are going to go internal, you should come up with something way better than what France is sending this year.

I feel like a lot of people are only liking this song so they can shit on France which is not cool. It's a bit too similar to Arcade for my taste and the chorus parts aren't very distinct so they kinda blend into the verses.

That's not the case at all. This is the only song that makes me feel something this year and that gets better with every listen. There is a reason it's currently 5th in the betting odds and still rising. It's also 5th on the My Eurovision Scoreboard app. To me it's a better song than Arcade.
