    I just sold my Galaxy S21+ and bought the iPhone 13 ProMax. Although I really love the battery durability of the 13 ProMax, I feel like I’m losing the flexibility here. I’m so already used to Samsung UI, all its shortcuts, and flexibility it offers (easier file management, full-featured in-app photo and video editor in the Gallery, apk installation outside Play Store, notification icons on the top screen, Secure Folder, split screen, pin to screen, GIF screenshot, long-page screenshot, etc etc..). It’s like the iPhone is making me less creative and I’m already bored with it after using it just for 2 weeks lol. Thinking to switch back to Samsung maybe once the S23 series are released. 😩

    This is very true! I've been an android user since, and it's my first time switching to an iPhone. One of the things I miss is the amount of flexibility like multitasking and easy access. I'm currently using an iPhone 11 and I love that my experience is much more smoother when it comes to the processor and the amount of online usage that I use! The only downside that it's very limiting. I often struggle to connect my hotspot to my laptop, so I have to reset it a few times because my iPhone doesn't detect an IP address. At times, I don't want to bring my laptop because it's too heavy because I've been working remotely the past few days, so it's been very hard for me to multitask on my phone. AND the part where you mentioned that you spend more of your time on your Samsung gallery rather than your iPhone is so relatable!! I used to spend more time in my android's gallery because I can easily organize and thinker myself around it, but now it just feels dull to save and organize photos on your iPhone :(( but regardless, I love both phones! I just wished Apple can use it's processor to it's full potential.

    Another great review. Samsung has their own eco system as well and those features work on their eco system. Mixing eco systems doesn't always work. But I use windows based computers so Microsoft and samsung integration is damn near perfect. Also while yes dex on the phone may not be utilized as much per se, but dex on the samsung tablets esp my s8ultra works amazing. Not a fanboy as I have the iphone 13 pro max as well I just like to give credit where its due. Apple is great in its own ways but we are fortunate to be able to choose what we like and both are great choices. The gap between the two is becoming smaller. I also give credit to samsung for getting developers to make more creator and workforce , and social media based apps for Android users more fluid and on par with Apple.

    13:21 Ella only accounted for one factor in the SOT you can get from a phone, the battery capacity. She would also need to talk about how each OS is utilised to consume battery. The reason iPhones generally have lower capacity batteries is because they can make up for it with how power efficient iOS is. I'm not an apple fanboy (I have never wanted to use Apple products and only owner a few when I was younger), but I can still appreciate what advantages iOS can bring. I'm still impressed that Samsung still has a higher SOT, the increase in battery capacity and improvements to the OS seem to have made up for Androids inefficiency when compared to iOS.

    Samsung DEX is pretty good when you are traveling. Let's say you go to a different country where TV's are not smart, or you are using your phone as a remote job PC which you carry mouse and keyboard with it. Its a gimmick for people that are always in their regular zone, however, if you are going out, it will be pretty inhandy, since many smart tv's actually suck for browsing experience.

You are down to earth, very realistic and what the experience is like using a device and living with its pluses and minuses, and actually much more useful than understanding what it would be like to on the device you are reviewing. It’s like having a very knowledgeable friend explain it to me. You have always had that uniquely good attribute and now you have even more great technical production quality to your videos. I’m glad you were on KZread and I hope you keep going indefinitely far into the future.

    Microsoft is also investing a ton of money for better syncing between certain Android phones and Windows thanks to the competition from Apple. I’ve been a Phone Link/ Your Phone user since it was in public beta, and it has dramatically improved in overall features as well as stability (still tons of bugs though). I wouldn’t be surprised if it further improves over the next year or two, especially with the EU’s DMA mandating more open APIs for third parties Also, I pretty much use Google Drive/ One for all of my documents and backups. It lets me easily access important files on my iPad, Samsung phone/ tablet, and non Samsung Windows laptop. There’s no universal copy/ paste or notification sync, but for my needs it works well

    Hey, when you use camera photo/video, you can touch the screen to adjust the light in Samsung. There is a light slide bar appears on the screen to customize the light intensity. You can slide it or lock it. Always customable on samsung android phone. About the curved edge screen, it gives smooth view on the screen. It is like modern car or furniture, there are no sharp flat edges. Anyway, curved edge screen is sophisticated screen manufactured technology compared to old fashioned flat screen. Many brands use flat screen. Especially for high-end flagship product, i think should use better technolgy. 😉😉😉

  • @lastdonuts

    @lastdonuts

    Ehh I disagree about curved being "better technology". Curved is fine when you don't use a protective case but inside of a case it creates a little gap area where you lose touch functionality. You could argue that curved takes away the sharp edge that comes from flat phones but again, phone case. Its more aesthetic rather than being actual better tech

Mixing OS environments is not the way to go. You can now pair your Samsung devices to windows AND if you have a Samsung tablet, even the from 2 to 3 year old ones, you can use it like iPhone and iPad. My Flip 3 rings and so does my Samsung tablet lol sometimes is annoying lol. I'm not biased, I also own an ipad, an iphone and an apple watch, but I still use more my Samsung tablet, my Flip 3 and my Galaxy watch, its just more productive.

    I have an app reccomendation for you. It's an official Samsung app that focuses on expanding ui options. It does that by showing you a list of little tweaks for you to choose from. The app is called "Good Lock". One of the addons I use is "Keys Cafe", which lets you completely customize the layout of your keyboard. And I mean like 100%. I used it to put my most used emojis directly on the keyboard. You can also change the appearance of the keyboard by adding effects that show when you tap on keys. Another add on I use (and by far the best one I think) is called "One Hand Operation +" (I'll call it OHO+ because I don't want to spell it everytime xD). In your video you talked about the back gesture that works on every screen. OHO+ lets you customize that gesture even more. What should happen, if you swipe slightly down? Should it open an app? What if you hold it for a short moment? How long should that moment be? It makes interacting with your phone way faster. Sometimes a few features of this app could even make it into Samsungs One UI. But only rarely.

    With the last update on the 22 ultra, shutter speed is incomparable to my Iphone. My iphone is now laggy and takes worse pictures. As for battery life yup. Ios wins hands down. No way around it. But I get 1.5 days of low to no usage on the Pro. I get 1.25 days of no to low usage on the ultra. You need to research on what you need to do to extend battery life on the ultra. It is a speed demon not a restriction like my Pro. I'll sacrifice that quarter of a day worth of battery any day over the headache the Iphone gives me. And yes the iphone has been thrown against the wall because of it's slow screen response time and non customizable design. The ultra does everything and more. And this is coming from someone who has had both apple and android ecosystems for the last 10 years.

Unless you're a real heavy laptop user, i think DeX is more than enough for the average user. Just purchase a wireless keyboard and mouse (not necessary but makes it much easier) and you're good to go.
