How has the current events affected your everyday work?

My design research internship got pushed back to 1 day per week. I am spending this time writing a Whitepaper and coherently documenting my previous research findings for business use. At the same time, I am searching for full-time job opportunities.

Hi Kevin, I'm Pierpaolo, a 24 yo Anthropologist who is from 6 months approaching the UX Research. I was wondering if you work as a freelance or dependent. That's because in case you're a freelance i'd like to see a video where you may explain how to find a portfolio of client in UX Research. Hi Kevin! I am a psychology postgraduate from India. Hope you're doing great! Thanks for your video, it was really inspiring to see how you were able to switch things up at the very last minute. I am starting to work on personal portfolio projects now, having used the lockdown period to teach myself more about UX. It's almost frustrating that I cannot plan any observation based researches. While remote research is better than no research, I want to be able to display a variety of research skills in my portfolio. I am trying to incorporate surveys (for quant), interviews and card sorts (for qual) and secondary research. Would you have any tips for anything else I should consider?
Do you have any suggestions on recruiting remotely/ amid COVID?

Recruiting agency if you got the budget. Or simply recruit using the panes from UserTesting or UserZoom etc... Another cheap way would be mTurk
I’m interested, do you invite stakeholder onto the Zoom call? We use IBM streaming so stakeholders can view the sessions whilst not being on the call

That's a great idea! Yes I invite stakeholders to watch in a room so 20 people don't show up on the call. Now, with everyone WFH, though, streaming would be a great idea. If I do have stakeholders on a call, I make sure stakeholders are muted and cameras off. I also let the participant know there are team members online taking notes, but that it'll just be me and them. I really make sure to make them feel comfortable.
