I'm gonna try, thank you for sharing your expierience! I most motivating factor is that I don't like super grippy griptapes so I think it will work beautifly and will save shoes at the same time. Also I don't like that normal grip scraches away my backpack when I attach the board to it so that will be a bonus!

Three shoes I've found that rip DKL super well. 1. Cariama Slips because they have rubber along the entire toe box. 2. New Balance 420's. A bit harder to find, but they bottom tread is ridiculously grippy 3. Es Swift 1.5. Same reason as the cariama, but not quite as durable and grippy, but still a great shoe for rubber grip.

Legit been looking for some shoes that can skate this griptape and grip and flick well. Thanks!

I skated DKL for a fair bit. But eventually went back to sandpaper. It’s not that I didn’t like it. It offered several positives like saving shoes, no grip thumb and it being really easy to shift your feet around. But it doesn’t skate well in any kind of wet, isn’t as grippy and susceptible to getting too slippery when it becomes dirty. In peak conditions it’s great but I just find myself in conditions that aren’t far to often.

Yeah I agree with all of that. It definitely doesn't last as long and gets slipper way easier.

Good video.. I've gone through one board with DKL so far. Ordered 4pack and don't see myself going back to sandpaper either.

I have a theory like that about premium leather like on the Nike force sb 58's. I'm going to try out that combo next week. I hope it's not all slippery holy shit lol

So I gave it a try. These are great shoes for DKL for sure, the leather grips just as well as the rubber. However, I don't think it's for me. My kickflips have turned into a downward flip sort of motion and I can't land them as high and have botched many tricks going fast, and that's not fun. it works, but I'm just not as confident. I'll take busted up shoes for the feeling of being one with my board I think

when I tried it, the borders started to lift up really fast. How do you get it to stay on?

It happened to me the first couple times as well. You have to do a second cut and it needs to be at an angle. The second cut kind of helps melts the grip onto the board if you do it right.

Sounds like a good option can you get it in clear?

I don’t think so. The only rubber grip I’ve seen have all been the standard black.

If you take care of your board and wipe it down the rubber grip could last you a while. I usual make a board last anywhere between 1 to 2 months so I haven't done any super long term testing.
