I think ASL should be offered as a language class along with Spanish and French in schools.

@@ladyanime100 🦅I agree and I studied it by myself and I took some classes to further my knowledge and grammar about the language. The show has inspired me to learn the language to this day

@ladyanime100 they have that at my school, I am taking it right now and I am so happy that i found this show.

She is brilliant & my favourite her every programme never missed. First saw her the film "Children of God" was fantastic & well done the award.

Sometimes, life blesses you with the Family you really need. Melody is the family Travis needs

I just love the look on her face when she signs "done yet?" Lol but personally if Travis is 18 then she should let him make his own decisions! If he doesn't want to go to college then he shouldn't be forced to! xxx

I think it was more about Melody knew that Travis wanted to go to college, but he was afraid and just wanted to support himself because that's all he knew due to how he was raised. Having love and support to be able to go to college was new for him still because before her, he didn't have the door open.

She knew he wanted to go to college cuz he only have up with going to college after he got rejected from Gallaudet.

@@Tyler_Mills26 the issue was his parents did not support him emotionally in anything and saw him as disabled and a burden so when he left home and moved in there he felt he was imposing on Melody and felt the need to be self-supporting. Melody was letting him know he wasn't a burden. We don't know Melody's back story how her family growing up treated her as the story never went there. Maybe she had a similar background to Travis but someone outside her birth family saw she had potential beyond being deaf and gave her a helping hand. You know, Melody was paying it forward. Making sure another deaf person was successful in life, able to reach their full potential instead of being held back by their disability because their family had made them feel they could never be successful.

Travis's situation was so bad at home that his uncle had molested him at age 12 and because his mother did not sign, he could not tell her we learned later on. Melody did a good thing taking him in and "adopting" him the way she did. I hope you can get ahold of the series to watch. The actress who is Helen in All Creatures Great and Small joined the cast. She worked at Carlton as a teacher and she and Melody were good friends. Her character had a deaf sibling, so she ended up wanting to teach deaf students.

Melody is so beautiful 😍

Melody is like a mother and John Kennish is like a father to travis.

I love Travis. He's one of my favorite characters.

Because Marlee Matlin is boss!
