My sister and brother-in-law live in Zug (outside Zurich). I flew Swiss nonstop MIA/ZRH in First Class. It was good and on return flew ZRH/FRA/MIA on Lufthansa. So OUTSTANDING was the product and inflight service that now whenever and wherever I can, I fly Lufthansa and have NEVER been disappointed. Try it, you’ll notice the difference. 😉

Bonjour Pit. Le bon plaisir de vous retrouver sur YT avec des vidéos de très bonne facture. Merci. Les premières images de la cabine donnent une impression d'étroitesse. Impression que vous semblez confirmer par la suite. Quelle bizarrerie ces différents fauteuils en business !!! ZRH tient ses promesses, LX fait le job et ne déçoit pas, mais je la trouve un peu en deça de certaines majors. Enfin, vive les portions de fromages ridicules chez les compagnies AF et LX ! Un comble quand même ! A bientôt pour la suite !

Bonjour Erik. Donc finalement, je suis bien parti en Swiss (et revenu en Austrian); Finnair ou SAS resteront à découvrir ;-) Globalement, l'expérience LX fut assez sympa mais il est vrai qu'après les effets waouw indéniables du début, une série de points au fil des 10 heures de vol étaient bien en deça des attentes / promesses du départ. Je suppose que les fromages dans les avions doivent impérativement être pasteurisés, stérélisés, insipides et inodores ;-)))) et voilà le résultat. Celui du petit déjeuner était beaucoup mieux pourtant. A bientôt pour le vol OS retour.

Thank you for a well thought out, well designed, well presented video. It is a difficult thing for an airline to deliver the "wow" factor from lounge arrival to deplaning. I personally have ever only been truly "wow"ed one flight in my decades of air travel and that was on a Korean Air A380 from ICN to JFK. That said, maybe as passengers we tend to get a little jaded. I like your point about a lot of small, trivial things adding up to an overall lowering of your experience. I think that is probably a more "normal" experience by business and first class travelers these days. Thanks again for a top notch video.

Thanks a lot for this very detailed and positive comment. I'm glad you liked the video. Well, Korean and their A380 are still un my bucket list. So far my "wow" airline from lounge to baggage delivery undoubtedly was Singapore Airlines. Sounds commonplace I know, but it truly is ;-)

Thanks a lot Pit, This video triggered my emotions - specifically when you said „who could ever get tired listening to this“ when pushing the throttle for take off. How often did i hear and feel this over all those years! After flying 20+ years around the world and staying in Asia and specifically in Thailand for quite some time I quit my job in May 2018 and also did not get on an airplane for one year now. This year, in July 2019 I will take my family to BKK for my father in law‘s urn burial and a 3 weeks vacation connected. We will take exactly this Swiss flight as I easily got biz class mileage award tickets for it. Using the business lounge in Zurich this year, I did not find the guy at the reception care much about customers. He said I didn't have much time ( that was his greeting) but I said 25 minutes is plenty as I was going to spend less than 10 minutes. On the way back from Bangkok using another lounge to connect my flight, I said upfront that I had only 20 minutes but she said, "we can do even 5 minutes" . How different their attitudes to welcoming ?

I flu ZRH->BKK in 4A. In my opinion the best seat in Business. I had enough space for my feed. I skipped dessert for a early sleep. So over Afghanistan I was already sleeping.

Thanks for watching. For sure, the 'throne seats' are the best.

Swiss and Austrian both have great service but what I don't like is their inconsistent business class seat designs. Especially on the 777, there are such differences among each seat, and these side window seats are actually rather cramped. I learned that in these 777s, better stick with the center rows to have aisle access if you're not paying extra for the throne seats.

That Business Class layout is very odd indeed ... and very unfair. I case you're interested, here's the link to the return flight on Austrian. kzread.info/dash/bejne/fXh206Z7XZm6pqg.html The absence of the small cabinet under the screen and of casings all around the seat gives some extra inches there which, on a 10,5 + hour flight, is more than welcome. But well, it's definitely not the individual seat with direct aisle access for all that AF or KL have.

Fast so gut wie Thai Airways.

To me, as a regular steerage passenger, it looked comfortable, but I take your point about the issues which could be improved. The leg room looked inadequate for you. I am fairly short, so I suppose I would be okay, but not for anyone reasonably tall. Was the cheese served at breakfast better than the dinner cheese? The dessert looked delicious. The overall experience was fine but that (window)seat, in spite of it's very elegant look and finishes, is rather tight. Furthermore, the boxing between the two seats makes access quite challenging and the little cabinet under the screen, whilst very practicle to store your passport, wallet, phone or camera, considerably reduces the legroom underneath. Austrian Airlines, whom I flew on my return flight, have exactly the same seat model but it's look and functions are slightly different and I can tell, you, it's like a different world ;-) Yes, the cheese and dried bacon for breakfast were excellent ;-)) as was the dinner by the way. à partir de paris, moins cher que sur la thai ou air france mais si la nourriture est meilleur, les sièges sont beaucoup moins biens et de loin. les sièges lits de la cie swiss sont étroits au niveau des épaules et beaucoup moins confortables

Merci pour ton intérêt. J'ai trouvé la nourriture bonne mais tout à fait du même niveau que Air France. Quant aux sièges, c'était la vraie déception. Très beau sur les images mais très peu confortable en réalité.

That appears to be standard economy density but it certainly IS tight. If you check on www.seatguru.com, you'll see that practically all B777 operators do the same. Thanks for watching.

not tight on emirates airbuses plenty of room better than buisness on swiss

Too much variation in seat quality and layout on Swiss and Austrian 777's to consider flying them. I prefer 1-2-1 Business Class layout like that found on most Asian and Middle East airlines.
