    Are you telling me they could not find somewhere else nearby that is already built to host the finals? The funds spent could have certainly been used elsewhere like better funding for the lower class Olympians. Or at least to have come up with a design that could have kept the pools in place afterward for future use?

    This is incredible engineering. It is essentially an advertisement for the Italian company that makes these pools. As well, Myrtha Pools gets free publicity. It is amazing but you do wonder if they could have invested in something permanent but that costs a lot more afterwards. $41 million is one thing. 180 million over the next 5 years to operate it a hell of a lot more of a commitment. They are going to teach kids to swim after the event.
