Originally from Nashville, Tennessee, we got married June 2013 and quickly caught the travel bug! We started “travel hacking” and taking more trips together and finally decided we wanted to travel for one year. After 2 years of saving $ and travel hacking over 2 million miles and points, we sold our cars and apartment and left home January 10, 2016. We started this KZread channel to share our experiences with friends and family, then decided we really liked vlogging and traveling. So we extended our 1 year trip to THREE years :) Now we have a goal of traveling to 100 countries before Nate turns 30 (which is March 20, 2019)! We are incredibly thankful to do something we love every day. :)

Can I just say, as someone who has grown up swimming in rivers and creeks, the Nile is surprising clear water lol. I love being able to see something outside of a tourist spot. That shot of the river from the desert is amazing!!!! It's more beautiful there than I ever imagined
Hey hey glad you survived being live bait for the crocs ha ha so interesting the sights you are seeing wow awesome stay safe see ya

All of your river cruise adventures (Cambodia, Myanmar, Amazon, and now Egypt!) have me interested in doing the same thing. It seems like a great way to get off the beaten track and see things that you would normally never visit. Great video, as always! They put a smile on my face everytime.

That looks really fun. Kara's enjoying the Nile River more than anyone else.
That river cruise is so beautiful. One day when we want a break from hitchhiking our way around the world we'll definitely do a cruise on the Nile. We've still not been to Egypt but we've heard it's a nice country with very nice people. Thanks for sharing! 🙏
I've always pictured Nile to be: 1. hot 2. full of crocodiles and therefore, unfit for swimming. How is the reality in this video so different?!

maladetts when we were in Egypt they told us that in the Nile there lives somekind of nilebug that gets in your bloodstream 😁 so they did advise us not to swim.

Crocodiles have been blocked from the nile in Egypt since the High Dam was built in Aswan . And it is cold cuz sun can't effect but the upper layer of the water which is nothing more than a couple of feet . Also it depends on the location , the visual here won't be the same as a kilometer ahead .

@@whoever7033 And what about the rest of the land up high? It's completely free of reptiles? Their habitat doesn't cross a certain geographical line within Egypt? Why wouldn't they just be born up the river after the dam? That sounds odd.

Wow!! So amazing! I’m just amazed at the history and all the carvings and how they lived all those centuries ago. The people of Egypt are beautiful and so kind. What a great cruise 🚢!! Kara, did you keep the empty coca-cola bottle? My brother kept coca-cola souvenirs when he was in the Marine Corps and it’s so cool all the different languages on all of them! Anywho, great video per usual:) Love that y’all are back on schedule 🤗 Stay you 😘

"100 degrees at Eight in the morning." Ha ha welcome to Palm Springs, CA! Same temps in the summer!
So interesting. I commend you both. A relative of mine went to Egypt and did a similar tour just before that political upheaval of several years ago. For a long time, I do not think many tourists have returned. My relative said it was crowded. So, your visit without crowds says a lot. I hope all goes well for the Egyptians in terms of redeveloping the tourism there. Such a lovely trip up the Nile you had!
The scene at 4:34 looks like something out of Star Wars! Egypt looks incredible. - Trevor

Super video
Noticed from your insta stories that the Aussie dude from your earlier vlogs has reappeared. Great to see him again 👍🏼
I love your videos guys. I wondering what brand of sandals Nate uses, they look pretty comfy to walk!
OMG only few seconds into the video I realized Nate has a new T-Shirt!!! 😂
One thing that amazed us were the colors that stayed in the temples etc...
That's the way it is in the desert. Once it's past 105' any wind can fell like it's coming from a blast furnace. And the water will feel colder, even if it's not. But the Nile is moving so fast, and I think it's deep, adds up to cold.
NICE Video 😍
Great work 👍

I am an Egyptian and i really enjoy your vlog and i like your vibes ,the only thing that i was thinking about while watching that i wished that i was with you and correct a lot of funny misunderstanding
I enjoy your videos. Hope to run into you two when I start my travels soon. Keep being awesome!
