He's not only an interpreter. He invented a new type of guitar pick, so you can pick and change to tapping and/or fingerstyle and back again... something I've been trying to do for ages. I've ordered one and hoping I can get used to using it!

If I were a metalhead, this guy would be my role model. Since I do play almost exclusively with my fingers, it's not hard to admire a player like Chris. I was surprised to learn that his guitars are by Jackson. I saw the headstocks, and I immediately assumed they were built by Brian Moore. That goes to show what you get for making assumptions.

Even though it is clear that Broderick is a professor and technician at the very best that anybody is nowadays in this scene, admitting that Friedman is weaker in that domain is also unjust. Let's not forget that Friedman's the person who introduced Japanese mods and scales to metal. I wonder if and when Broderick would make his invention on thumb picks available to the public..

@eddieward666 I bought the Jackson Chris Broderick 7-string signature from a guitar store online since I couldn't find one locally and I have no regrets. The guitar plays well and sounds great both distorted and clean. If you get a chance to play one before buying to make sure its for you thats obviously ideal, however, I can vouch for the fact that its an amazing guitar. It looks beautiful and plays well.

I think Chris is one of the most diverse players out there but Marty has some of the most memorable solos of all time. Its like apples to oranges. Just enjoy the music!!!!
