    @@LifeHawkeye I do not. It's a lot of fun to have seen him over the years achieve what he has. Best part is hearing or reading how soooo many people appreciate him, his humble demeanor is Jeff. That's really cool. He is the same kid I knew in middle school, playing in my mind, just as great then as he is now. Never forget his white Jackson and him shredding it like a piece of taffy in his hands - remarkable abilities. One more thing - no one of any age at that time in that region was even remotely close to achieving on guitar what he was doing. He probably knew that because when he graduated in HS he was off to Seattle, he knew what was up for many many years before that.

    @@DS-ju2sq That is so cool man, I really appreciate your insight. That must be surreal to have known someone that has gotten so widely known. I can’t really say I know anyone that has ever had that level of success. I was a lot like him through middle and high school too. Playing my guitar for hours upon hours believing one day I was going to be doing it for a living and becoming an amazing guitarist. I definitely didn’t turn out like Jeff lol. I did play guitar for a living for a short time and whereas I have gotten really good after all these years, I am nowhere near Jeff’s level of ability. Probably not in another lifetime could I get to where he’s at lol. He does seem really humble though. Thanks for your reply!

    @@LifeHawkeye It's not surreal as much as I'm happy that people, a lot of people, like yourself get to know who he is. Also, I don't know everything about Jeff that would be foolish to say. The thing I want to believe never changed is him being humble, never heard him talk shit about people or be mean spirited toward anyone in middle school or highschool (which is pretty amazing), and that he was inclusive, before 'inclusivity' became a thing in American culture. I hope he gets all the accolades imaginable world-wide and that he continues to create music and inspire. BTW (CRAP) I can't remember if it was Kramer or Jackson anymore... gettin old lol.

It's just muscle memory. It's like walking. The more you do it the more it becomes part of you. Do you think about walking? No. You just do it because your brain has made the connection for you when you where a child. But what's most important is that Jeff has a good practice approach. He doesn't just noodle shit all day long he actually sets goals and wants to achieve them. Your HS buddies just wanted to noodle. He didn't.

    So the issue of long hair is really a gender issue for you? The macho identity you are stuck with and probably the anger and tendency to bully that go along with it. Authoritarians generally do not choose to pursue music as a career and if they do are not rarely successful at an artistic level. Having shorter hair will give you no more advantage in this business, than being angry about other peoples hair..

    Attention will never be divided democratically in any artistic field. It is given after an interaction of many factors which also involve how memorable the work of art is, and how much it "tingles" and excites specific feelings, tastes and preferences. As far as the old albums of Arch Enemy (I haven't listened to their latest), I consider them excellent: very well composed, played, mixed and produced. Anything but average. And whether they are made to sell or not has a dramatically smaller impact than what's traditionally been happening at other popular music styles for decades.

  • @bloodySunday77

    What I mean is that the "too commercial" argument can sometimes work and sometimes not. The more extreme the music style, the smaller commercial niche it has and the less relevant this argument becomes. Plus, it has the potential to prevent you from listening to music that's worth listening to.

  • @bloodySunday77

    @bloodySunday77

    I'm going to have to trust you on their latest developments as a band, but like I said the big, famous bands of every genre were always getting the most attention. It's basically the dictionary definition of "famous", and that's how it works, fortunately or unfortunately. Every band has to climb up the ladder through this way, and prove themselves... Judging whether they really deserve that attention is very subjective, and the only partly objective way of looking at it is decades later when history evaluates their legacy and impact.

But him being such a nice guy and just a incredible musician. Makes it aww inspiring. Makes me wanna be a better player. These internet trolls are dipshits and are jealous. And hide. @Nickhead87 I don't care if someone doesent have the same opinion as me. That's totally fine. I care when they think there opinion is truth. My origional comment was praising how incredible jeff was. And how it took me a little over a month to learn I voyager. And how people don't have balls to say shit to your face. And hide behind a phone to say whatever they want. Like someone could say I can play better than Jeff. But they have no experience at all and not even a musician. That's what i have a problem with.
