i think that bobcat was smelling those delicious lamb chops 😉
Loved the Shari Lewis shout out! You have to be "of a certain age" to have caught that one. And by the way, this dish looks fantastic. I love all things tamarind. And I would make them with loin chops for an easier-to-eat appetizer.

In GB we can buy a double chop called a Barnsley chop, double the deliciousness.
That was the best pun ever! Sherry Lewis of how to do this! Only us old folks know what that is about!
As an Australian the only way to eat lamb chops is with your fingers!!! lol. looks amazing great work

Love love love Sir David Attenborough. He posted earlier today.
My guy, I just bought some lamb chops and have a jar of tamarind paste I've been dying to crack into for pad Thai but this is happening this week. Looks so good!
That Shari Lewis remark is going over the heads of people who aren't at least 55. She had a puppet named Lamb Chop.
Beautiful bobcat! I see them all the time when I run up by Mt Tam!
Wow! Made this for dinner, after finding a 10 pack of lamb tenderloins at Costco and a jar of tamarind paste in the pantry. This dish is a keeper. Prep time and cooking time are quick, making it an excellent choice for company. The presentation with lime quarters and onions looked great on our table. Thanks, Chef John! A flock of wild turkeys walked past our door while I was cooking, but I didn’t miss turning all the lamb pieces.
"You are the Sherry Lewis of how to do this." I see what you did there! 🤣
Apparently Shari Lewis (wasn’t she gorgeous!?l) would often order broiled lamb chops when dining with other media folk just to see their reaction to it! Probably a very obscure reference if you don’t recall Shari Lewis!

She was this Baby Boomer's first childhood crush. I thought she was gorgeous.
This looks amazing, I can't wait to cook this for my sister. She loves lamb, and I don't think she has tried it like this. Hopefully, we see a bobcat too! 😂
Here in the UK we called the broiler a "grill". It had me confused for ages when americans said broiler, I thought they were talking about some kind of special device that boiled things.
Unbelievable that Lamb is so underrated here in the States. It is magnifico. This recipe? ❤

I think it's more of a moral concern, though most livestock are killed at a very young age already
Ok, a Sherry Lewis reference, and a real, live, wild bobcat in one episode... You got me!😂 And that bobcat is flipping beautiful and adorable, OMG!
On the next episode of "Food Wishes", Chef John is preparing a fresh cougar tenderloin with an apple-mango chutney...

Best recipe in a while. Thanks Chef John!
Laughed at the Lambchop/Shari Lewis reference...very funny.
Great for Easter! I love broiled lamb chops!
I made these for Easter and the marinade really is something special, unlike anything I have used on lamb before. Every component in it works with the next, without overpowering the lamb flavor. Thank you chef!
They look sooo good! I'm so hungry now! And I love sour flavors like tamarind and quince, they really get your mouth literally, watering!
Lamb is insanely expensive lately. I’m ready to try this with pork chops

"The Sherry Lewis of how to do this" You're wild John lol
I've said it a-fore and I'll say it again; you are my hero.
Looks wonderful
Oh my goodness these look terrific and my fave for sure
Some tamarind is always great in a beef stew or cassarole.
Shari Lewis reference, random bobcat footage. Chef John has it all going on 😂🤣
Have everything on hand to do this, so will be trying it out.
OMG Chef John, I made these tonight and they were AMAZING! My wife and I were literally gnawing on the bones. So good! Thank you!
Haven’t had lamb in a long time. This looks DELICIOUS 🤤 😍
Dude that is epic. Your channel brings me joy
I am drooling, thanks for sharing!
I made this tonight exactly to the recipe. It was easy and absolutely delicious. I served a roast cauliflower and pomegranate salad with it. Thanks heaps Chef John (from Tasmania).
Oh god, the Shari Lewis line killed me! You're the best chef John, you never disappoint!
Can't wait to make this!
I wish lamb was easily available in my area. This looks great.
They look so tasty
I love your recipes they are easy to follow and delicious
love your easy recipes! been a game changer at home
I make these kind of chops all the time, but never with this kind of marinade that looks absolutely wonderful!
Lamb has never been a tasty meat in my home. However those chops peeked my enthusiasm. Did not notice any use of the lime garnish. Love all of your advice and presentations. Gamy dishes and real outside game. Wow John . Amazing

Sheri Lewis AND lambchop(s)...points for a fantastic reference
Cooked this yesterday came out lovely! Didn't lose any of the "lambyness" of the meat either, will cook again :) x
Wow very nice sharing 😊 Outstanding 💞
Good sweet and sour flavor lamb.
Excellent!
Man, I love tamarind. Can't wait to give this a try.
Made these with your Greek rice! Everyone loved it!
I remember Sheri Lewis and Lamb Chop. This recipe looks so good. Will try it.
Oh, Chef John, this looks delish!
This looks incredible, im going to need to go get some lamb..
yummy
Already pressed like , like so many others. Making this alongside the potato/ spinach casserole with my awesome lovely daughter
WOW PLS give us a garden tour !
If you're big into healthy eating: lamb is almost always grass fed, as opposed to beef which is usually corn or grain fed. You are what you eat, and so is your food!

Yes, lamb is indeed usually grass fed. This is one of the reasons it is so expensive.

I suppose it depends on what country your in. In Australia we mostly have grass fed beef. There is no big feed lots like that stuff they have in the US. Well at least not where I live. It's all green grass down in Gippsland Victoria Australia where I'm at.

@@phraydedjez 'Merican here; never knew that about the Australian food industry. We've had the factory farming "go big or go home" push since the 70s that led to our nasty nutrition crisis today. I gotta I assumed that was taken on by most of the rest of the West.
@phraydedjez

@@stantheoneandonly yeah I think all of Australian beef is grass fed and like less then half is finished off on grain and most of the grain finished stuff goes overseas from what I have looked at, Its super eazy here to go down to a local supermarket chain store and get grass fed beef steaks, its actually cheaper then the grain fed stuff around here lol. I think the reason America is so big on the grain fed stuff is because of the corn industry.
@phraydedjez

@@stantheoneandonly I just went to the fridge and looked at the beef mince I bought from a local shop, Its grass fed, the 21 day aged grass fed eye fillet steak I have in the fridge that weighs 260 grams cost me $12aud which is about $8us for 9 ounce steak, so maybe we pay more Im not sure. but thats for what we call the eye fillet and grass fed and aged 21 days
I’ve had a tamarind paste in my pantry for so long, it’s time to take it out!
Thanks for the excuse to go out and finally buy some lamb! This looks great
I feel for that bobcat. Imagine being a carnivore and smelling the wonderful aromas coming from Chef John’s, then having to settle for raw rodent dinners.
The bob cat bit had me laughing 🤣. We love you chef John!
I cook my chops on the grill of my convection toaster oven with identical results. Oddly they're better cooked thru than rare or medium rare and stay tender.
I am making this today for Easter. Later I will update with results.
"It's actually not hard to find." It is for me! 😅 "It's in the Asian section of your grocery store!" No it's not! I have to travel an hour to find that stuff locally 😂 Still love this recipe though, and excited to try it out! ❤

The good news is that once you've tracked down the elusive stuff, you can pick up several jars of it. Sealed, it keeps essentially for ever. Once it's opened, you can fridge it, and it keeps essentially for ever.
Shari Lewis reference - perfect!
Chef John is never not great. Never!
I got confused; my attempts at sweet&sour bobcat resulted in serious injuries and having to order dinner!
I'm sure that Bobcat would love some lamb chops!
Sherry Louis. Wow! :p
That bobcat wanted some of those lamb chops too. 😅😊

Hello, fellow happy people.😊
Wonderful bobcat footage. I suspect, however, that the cat had an ulterior motive. Six of them, in fact. On a stainless steel tray in the kitchen. 😉
If your fish sauce smells bad...it might be a bad brand or past prime. I recommend the red boat kind, very rich aroma and intense umami flavour. Another tip: add the fish sauce when the food is hot. The heat seems to "bloom" the sauce which usually eliminates any fish smell within seconds.
Chef John's "squirrel" is a Bobcat! 😹
I will definitely try this but give it a little less time under the broiler.
The bobcat was the priority.
I bet the marinade would be fantastic on ribs
Seeing a bobcat is a good sign!
Would love to make this, but where I live in FL, lamb is more expensive than the best prime steaks the butcher has. Crazy expensive....Recipe looks wonderful though! Cool bobcat too!

Is there a Halal grocer around? That's where we get our lamb, and it's reasonably priced.
Thanks, I am going to try this with a leg of lamb I’ve got in the freezer.
❤🤍💙 all your videos mate👍
Im doing this with Lamb Ribs, my new favourite meat
Olá Chef 🌻🇧🇷. Ganhei tamarindos e vou fazer! O senhor me inspira a fazer melhor! Chef, como faz para manter o forno tão limpo?
Looks like this would be great in an airfryer
I wasn’t expecting a Shari Lewis reference😂
Give it a try soon? You are the bobcat of deciding wether to do that.
Tamarind paste might be easy to find in California, but even in Boston it's hard to find in physical stores. The powder is widely available though.
One needs to be of a certain age to get the Shari Lewis reference!🤣
Well, this pegged my YUM Meter !!! Thanks
John... Can that marinade be made in quantity and Jared and saved for extended time. Say a week before use?? If so what suggested method to contain and store?? I'm thinking there times the quantity!!
Weather never stopped me from grilling but yeah broilers are under used.
When I think cold, crisp, and bracing, I always reach for my favorite vodka. But that would probably go pretty well with lamb chops, too. P. S. Are bobcats an atmospheric condition the precludes grilling?
I don't know how essential the bobcat is for this method, but there is a cardinal who loves to perch on my windowsill and look inside. Will the lamb still turn out okay?
"Chef John has bobcats" needs to be on a hoodie.
Very nice Sherry Lewis reference.
Rain, snow, rain, or sleet will not keep me from my appointed grill.
7:00 I'm sure this is a frequently asked question; do you eat the entire tray when you try a bite? Or does family eat it within the day? Hopefully but my family is debating this.
