Goodmorning Lisette, In the morning our stove has live embers too. Your winter is not so different then our region NS. The snow comes and goes. Frost is not in the ground yet. Don't plow until it is as that would dig up the road. In Southwestern NS we have had green Christmas for several years. I use my Dad's tools in our workshop bldg too. I always think of him. In our dining area the chandelier that hung in my parent's house now hangs over our dining area table. Confort food is special. Ro is very inovative with her cooking as I am a type 2 diabetic. She too makes delicious apple and pumpkin pies. The aroma fills our cottage. Yum. Stay safe, stay well. Lots of love our friend, Ro and Dave. ❤❤😺😽☝️✌️🧀🍷🍷🍷

Good morning Lisette, My friend Alan gave me two pumpkins last week. He had a few and asked if I had a preference, I said yes, the ones with the most vertical lines please. Pumpkins with the most lines are better to cook with than the ones with only a few lines. I find they are less stringy and pulpy. I baked the pumpkin cut in half, cut side down in the oven. yesterday I made four pumpkin pies. Alan stopped bye with friends of his and I gave one pie to him and one pie to his friends. I try to always have something ready to give anyone who may stop bye the cabin. You do a nice job with pies. Smiling, George.

My dad often said he like chocolate syrup on his apple pie. (ewww!) My mom would never have the two in the house at the same time! Ice cream for sure! Or even a nice sharp cheddar cheese. You are always making the most delicious comfort food. And homemade apple pie, I can not say when or if I ever had a homemade apple pie. The only thing better than apple pie with vanilla ice cream is warm apple pie with vanilla ice cream. I woud not have been able to wail until morning. lol I love how you cook everything from scratch. I haven't seen anyone do that since my great grandmother, who I lived with when I was a kid. I wish I had paid more attention and learned from her but I was busy climbing trees.
