If you say so. However, I'd pick a goal that's done with full strength on both teams, or at least not one where the other team has an abundance of time and space that a 3 against 5 situation provides. Nice goal though. My pick : Finland's 4-3 goal against the Czech in the quarterfinal was pretty neat, done on 5vs5.

By the way I have to say that Finland should take Swedish system when we talk about junior developing. It's not just luck that Swedes have a lot of first round picks since last 5 years. It would be possible in Finland also, because we have the same capasitet of juniors. But there is lot of wrong in Finnish hockey leadership.

Daniel Puckoff Yea, but I mean that Sweden has more top players in NHL than Finland. But I absolutely think that we Finns are great team when we talk about team effort. We can stick together, even if we don't have many superstars in our team.

Now that I think about it, the IIHF tournament format is bullshit. It makes no sense that Sweden were won every game up to this point and just because they lost 1 game, they lose the Gold medal. It just proves that you don't need to be better in the tournament to win. The Gold Medal winning team can have a worse record than the bronze or silver medal teams in the tournament and still win gold. Basically you just need to win the game that matters, not the other ones.

  • @ThomasDaAsianBoy

***** Ya, but it is the matter of who wins the right game. Like I said, I think you can still win bronze with a better record with less loses than the gold medal winner. It just matter if you have a good game in the quarter finals or semi.

  • @ThomasDaAsianBoy

No. Just because you lose 1 game does not mean your team isn't better. You can't win every game. It could be 1 bad start. Which is why i think there should be some sort of best 2 out of 3 thing.

  • @OhDuhEh

ThomasDaAsianBoy You still have to win your way through the final series, and it's not any 'one' game they lose. It's THE game. Final game. That's what makes it exciting. If it only were by who wins the most games in general, it would be boring as hell.

  • @ThomasDaAsianBoy

OhDuhEh Thats what I am saying. You can just win "THE right game" to get by. With the new world junior tournament format it makes even less sense. You can get into the playoff round in 4th place in a group with just 1 win out of 4 games. Thats ridiculous. And then what happens if the 1st place team (with a perfect round robin record) has a bad start in the quarter finals against the 4th place team and loses? The 4th place team could then move on in the semis. But then what if the 4th place team loses in the semis? Then goes to bronze medal round and loses that too? So would they deserve 4th place overall with 1 win in the whole tournament? Its highly unlike this will happen. But it upsets do happen a lot in the IIHF and it is possible. The tournament format right now does not always prove who is better, just who wins the right games. I agree that it would be boring as hell if it was just based on who wins the most games, but that is more accurate. But thats not a good solution. A good solution would be to go with the old format and just send the top 3 teams from each group to playoffs and have like a best 2 out of 3 matches in at least semis or finals. That way you can't just be effected by 1 bad start.
