Great trip and great videos, we are thinking of doing the same trip next winter, we have a similar van a Fiat Ducato and I know you got studded tyres fitted, where they necessary and how much did they cost supplied and fitted. Many thanks

Thanks really appreciate that! So we get caught with our pants down a bit and we have an odd size (245/65/17) and they were around £1100 after speaking with locals we worked out that a set for a 16" wheel would be around £600. We could have pushed on without them but to be honest the changing conditions up there just mean it makes sense to. I'm a confident drivers and with throw caution to the wind with a lot of things but up there it just made driving a lot more care free. A lot of the roads are fast moving sweepers when you're on the more main roads and they road conditions can change mid corner. On snow non studs are fine but when you're on the icy roads they just come into their own and allow you to chuck the van about like you would in the UK. They honestly make the biggest difference, the way we had it explained to us is all the locals buy studs so why wouldn't you?

@@ourvannorman Many many thanks for your reply from what I have gathered that if you drive up the middle through Sweden you might get away with all terrain tyres but if you want to go the coast where thaw freeze may occur you need studs. We just trying to price it all up ie tyres, engine pre heater and moving the water tank into the garage. Do you have a Chinese engine pre heater, did it work okay? Would you buy it again? Sorry for the questions, I hope your dog makes a full recovery. Take care Kevin

@@kevinroberts2856 It’s a difficult one. The temp swings are so big and so fast. So we went from -40 to +2 degrees in 2 days and it all started to melt. You can get caught with your pants down really fast up there. We’ve got the Hcalory pre-heater in ours and it was fantastic set it to an hour and it took it from -20 to 90 degrees in an hour. We would definitely buy it again.

Hahaha! You would think so! But no lifted, loaded, big wheels and in the cold soo yeah 21 mpg 😂😂
