In Sweden we don't need 100 years to get from idea to reality especially when we have researchers from India and Pakistan...
I am sure that the industry was not shocked.

My Toshiba 25 year old laptops internal batteries still hold charge and time/date stays accurate. Big batteries die after a couple years.
