Many electrical appliances are held back by the high cost of their batteries. This has been a longstanding issue. However, there might be a new solution on the horizon. Researchers in Sweden have developed a promising low-cost battery that uses zinc and lignin, a byproduct of the paper industry, instead of lithium. This has tremendous promise, and has started to pique the interest of a lot of big names in the energy industry.
This new battery design raises some important questions. How efficient is it? Could it be a game-changer for energy storage? Join us as we take a look at this new battery technology and what it brings to the energy industry.

Well, it sounds like a great idea but I heard a lot of potential and theoretical in the transcript. When are we actually going to get a zinc based battery?😮

In Sweden we don't need 100 years to get from idea to reality especially when we have researchers from India and Pakistan...

My Toshiba 25 year old laptops internal batteries still hold charge and time/date stays accurate. Big batteries die after a couple years.
