Little reminder that a lot of booktubers or people who reads a lot : read in their mother tongue + very easy books (young adults for example). Which is all fine, but in contrast if we are reading a book that is challenging to us, it will take more time. And all right ! Reading isn't a competition :) loved the video xx

My screen time is embarrassingly high. If I traded my screen hours for reading, I'd lose half the day. It really reminds me to get off my phone and to touch grass. Quick question: Do you ever dive into books in Mandarin Chinese? I'd be thrilled to watch a video where you chat about your top Chinese reads or even a vlog attempting to tackle the latest hits in China. It'd be awesome to explore books beyond the Western authors I usually go for. Thanks for the awesome videos, as always!

One of the things that I enjoyed most about your video is the way that you track the data from the things that you’re creating content as book reading or spendings etc and how this could be a powerful self knowledge tool. This is really interesting because it is something not commonly to see around. Congratsss love you ❤

  • @AnrupB

I’ve been doing the same. I tracked my screen time each week for a month, slowly aiming to reduce unnecessary use. I recently turned off ALL notifications except phone calls (no red bubbles), am asking myself if I need to call or text someone (or check my calendar, or want to listen to music - main uses for me) and am replacing evening use (the main issue) with reading. Working really well!

Evelyn! I'm so excited you are doing watercolor 太棒了! It's such a challenging medium because you have to imagine how the colors and water will interact, and them plan out each stage of interaction in sequence before even touching the paper. It is so rewarding, a unique blend of mental challenge and creative outlet. Because of its nature, it has a meditative quality too. An interesting metaphor is that white space becomes as important as color. How fun! Thank you for sharing your wonderful adventures! No end to admiration and anticipation for what you achieve. 灰常棒!

Yes! I think it is also a metaphor for control because no matter how much you plan, you can not control the things outside yourself, so you must expect the sometimes alternative outcome in this odd state of hope vs catastrophe, and how to recover 😂 and if you have the right mindset, even a disaster can be made beautiful

hahaha yeah...luckily I'm not super dependent on my phone, and can live without it for days if I really have to. However s a content creator I still spend a lot of hours in front of my computer screen, and there's still so much time I want to get back

Unsurprised by the way women were portrayed in the book, and THIS is why I don't read books written by cis-het male authors anymore XD

Ahh the male gaze…I’m an optimist and still believe there are less male gaze-y cis-het male authors out there. If anyone in the comments have any recs please share

Hi Evelyn, I discovered your channel last month and I love your content, personality and channel overall. I have just started posting vlogs (again since may in another channel @waxrxda) and you are one of the vloggers I use for learning and also consuming for myself. Thankyou for being on KZread ❤.
