Swapping :- It is a mechanism in which a prcess can be swapped temporarily out of main memory to secondary memory. ( swap out ) Later agin swaps back to main memory( swap in )

Bad example. Never swap a process with pending I/Os. Difficult if the process is accessing asynchronously.
