Why are they paying for childcare when she stays home? She could be taking him to places that are cheap or free to get him around other kids his age and she can teach him a lot herself. That $700 could get them a ton more groceries and outings for the kids. If they saved that money each month, they could have a family holiday! It makes no sense, especially with her husband never knowing how much he will make. She decided to stay home with the kids and that means the kids stay home with her! I get that she might feel she needs a break from time to time but for what they're paying is ridiculous! By her putting it at the top of the expense list tells me it's a top priority for her and not other things like rent/mortgage, food, bills etc...

If she is a stay-at-home-mom not going back to work, could they reconsider the nursery 3x/week (maybe pare it down to 1x or 2x/week to give her a break, then bring the kids to free parent-child programs or find free activities that involve other parents and children the other 2x or 1x/week for the kids' education and socialization)? Or, if keeping the nursery 3x/week, she could get a part-time job for those days. It seems like a waste to spend 700 pounds/month on childcare considering their situation and these options.

A lot of childcare centres require kids to be there a minimum of 3 days in order to keep their place especially if there’s a big demand in the area for childcare openings.Childcare isn’t just someone keeping your kid alive for a few hours it’s often akin to preschool where kids are taught many things in addition to the socialization they get with other kids.Plus a lot of smaller towns don’t have a lot of other groups…especially free groups and even if they do there’s often limits on how many can be in those groups. They may very well have other options,I don’t know but that’s how things work where I’m from.

She could also go to the gym with all that free time and maintain the home so it’s sparkling clean 🤷‍♀️

@@judester9482 But the gym would just be 1 more expense and the goal is to find how to NOT spend more but stretch and add to what she has, and a part-time job would be one way.

She is really a nice girl. Her appreciation is expressed beautifully at the end. I feel so sorry for these rich kids being shipped off to boarding school. The way she expressed herself about the family outing and thst the closeness was so lovely and important made me feel sad for her, she obviously missed out on that and that part of her life is over. I truly don't get wasting $700 A month on childcare and then complaining how tough things are when your a stay at home mom, unless maybe she has some kind of health problem.

If you’re a stay at home mum you shouldn’t need childcare, that was the normal way when I had my children in the 70’s in Australia.

Why is Seb in daycare with a stay at home mum. Seb is still young there isnt a need for him to be in daycare.. Thiis would give the family an extra 700 pounds a month extra, which would allow them to live more comfortably. Im sure Mum can teach him nursery rhyme, numbers, counting, letters, name spelling, and much more.. yes, one day a week before Seb starts, big school may be needed but not atm. He is still a very young toddler. If Mum can't manage the children all the time during week while her hubby works, maybe she needs to go back to work herself to fund the daycare. Daycare is a exspenive luxury when its not necessary...

What an unbelievable comparison - “My money” is parents money, Clue, “never worked a day in my life” - versus “Our money” - we slaved for every cent we ever made.

If the children are in childcare then the mum should be working or at least part time. I am totally confused why childcare is even an expense considering she is a stay at home mum.

For a lot of moms, especially where I live in canada, daycare cost per month is the total amount of income earned or just shy of a couple hundred and that's not incl the kids meal in most daycares. To balance that out, why have strangers raising your kids and not knowing every minute if they're safe versus staying home and raising themselves the way they should be !!

Tara has to be the biggest phony. They always say life isn’t about money it’s about family then literally cries about money, they have a house, job and she’s literally overweight yeah you ain’t counting pennies. I got the impression Tara expected Shaira to buy her a new life. This couple makes me sick, btw I loved Shaira’s fashion just beautiful 👌

I think that criticizing her, especially her weight, should be out of bounds. The show is more about exposing wealthy kids to “common” people. I don’t think she’s phony at all.

It’s for social interaction & for the child to be around other kids. Plus childcare isn’t just taking care of someone’s kids they often teach things similar to preschool. At least where I live anyway.

I think nursery is more educational than childcare. I'm sure they do it to socialise the child and prepare him for school. I don't think she's lazy; she's just trying to give her kid the best start in life. Blame the system for costing so much, not the parent who has to pay for it. People are so quick to judge!

What's interesting is that that fake fur and those high heels paired with what looks like a running outfit , looks cheap and tacky and incongruous ,,especially in settings like the fishing pond . She did step up to the plate and it was especially nice to see her take the initiative to do things like babysit !

I had five kids and stayed home and took care of them myself. I cooked and sewed and took them for walks and picnics. I made sure we paid the bills and kids had food in their stomachs. We managed to pay the house off in six years while we had the first 4.

She seems like a nice girl. Shes willing to try everything despite her lack of experience. Id love to teach her a bit more about life than this couple did. First challenge would be finding a cheap pair of flats so she wouldnt be killing herself in those heels 😂 And if were gonna fish, the one she caught would become bait for something bigger then you can cook it and make a meal. Come on dude...if youre going to make her haul gravel at least teach her a useful skill. Id also like to have a chat with them and ask why the hell theyre paying double their mortgage for 3 day a week childcare. Get to work or be a mom lady.
