This is so beautiful. Reminds me of the Barbie movie when Prince "Daniel" dances with Odile. Loved it more in the Ballet tho.

Swan Lake is a whole ballet, which is many "songs". The "Pas de deux" is one of the songs you hear when the Prince and the black swan dance together. "Pas de deux" in french means "Step of the two". This dance is supposed to represent how much they love each other.

One of the most beautiful violin solos I’ve ever heard. I feel for the ballet dancers because during this part I close my eyes and just listen to the music. It touches my soul.

I don't know if someone will read this, I just would like to say I have been listening to this version trought the years since 2011 when I started to play violin. It is my favorite version of this song and honestly the only one I enjoy listening to. Eleonora is part of my live, I hope she is happy and well!

Actually this piece is supposed to be the black swan, Odile, tricking the Prince into thinking that she is Odette, his real love. Hence the two principal parts in the ballet: Odile, the "black swan" and Odette, the "white swan" played by the same ballerina. At this point in the ballet the Prince thinks that Odile is Odette and is about to declare his love to Odile.. which means Odette will die because she is cursed.

But off course, i like the most those pieces i know well as the violin parts of well know ballets. Do you have any recording of her playing the white swan pas de deux?
