The recording engineer didn't enlarge the volume of individual instruments in different parts of the performance. It's the right approach. A good show doesn't need too much mastering. Just record it as it is. Good job! Above all these young musicians are excellent! It's the best performance of Swan Lake I found on internet!

For better or for worse, Swan Lake will never not make me think of those old Barbie movies. This is a beautiful performance and it makes me think of an enchanting part of my childhood :)

I don't know about Barbie movies .... I discovered Tchaikovsky through a film by Ken Russell starring Richard Chamberlain as Tchaikovsky... as far from Barbie as it gets.... but nobody wrote ballet music like Tchaikovsky

I so agree! It’s hard to find a performance that truly feels like swan lake should (IMO)...lush, graceful, delicate and serene, overwhelming, powerful, crashing, vibrant, intimidating, intoxicating, hypnotizingly dreamlike. I was so impressed with these young performers. They had an amazing director. She really gets it.

If she moves she is perfect, for she not only conducts, but she is the music. She has a latino elan, not the hieratic style of other conductors (Bohm, Von Karajan). Bravo.

I'm sitting here, crying my eyes out from all of this beauty. This is such a wonderful performance. And, after checking the comments, I'm just so glad to know others feel the same way too!

How refreshing it is to see young musicians playing classical music. Not to mention how soothing it is when you listen to it under what we are facing today. God bless each one of you.

I am speechless. These young people are amazing. If my eyes were closed and I could not see them I would think this was the Los Angeles Philharmonic.

Edson S. 😆 you’re a sweet rascal!! thanks for the laugh. It’s a dizzying joy and a sublime gift to be a talented, smart & beautiful woman !! I thank all the boys and men who truly respected me as an equal colleague and admired my intellect and abilities just as much as my face and figure. I’m lucky before I entered residency in a such an extremely male dominated field; I’d married the love of my life. They respect and know him and knew I was “off limits” It is sweet to receive admiration & respect from male colleagues. I never had problems putting the occasional creep in his place. There’s a difference between harassment and respectful admiration. Now that I have young sons I worry that in their future they are gentlemen who know how to confidently & respectfully admire their female colleagues while never overstepping that line. It’s not easy to be a young man in this day and age... having sons has made me aware of how dangerous and vindictive some females can be.

A very talented young orchestra. Great performance.

Tchaikovsky was the greatest of them all because of his astounding versatility. Symphonies, concertos, opera, choral, chamber, stand alone masterworks like Capriccio Italien, one of the first great song writers (None But The Lonely Heart) and of course, his magnificent ballets.

Good to see so many young people plying classical music .God bless everyone !

Music is inner life, whoever has inner life will never suffer from loneliness.

I love seeing the swaying heads of the musicians (especially the strings) as they play. They are so into it. They make me smile for the music and their love of playing.

6 years later a 14 year old is watching this classical tune. How lovely

It is the fourth or fifth time this Akademia surprises me with these wonderful young musicians. Just signed in.

I am stunned by the young musicians! Excellent. And the young lady conducting is superb! I must visit Poland before I die.

What a marvelous time we live in, having the ability to find such music to listen to and appreciate. Thank you for the enjoyment of this!

Makes me smile to see those young, talented so passionate and so beautiful.

Seeing the people together makes me nostalgic for the days when we could go to a concert. These teenagers are fantastic.

Hmmmm.... I never thought that so many young players could tackle this piece in such a marvelously enticing fashion. They were impressive here, my pleasure scale tipped the top! Listening to them is something that I will do again often!

I just love youth orchestras. Their not so expensive instruments and their technical slips make for a lovely raw innocent sound. Well done!!

This brings back memories of being a very young boy and sitting through and watching my sister rehearse over and over the Swan Lake ballet with her fellow dancers.

6:43 this part... man. I can't resist crying at this point, I can't explain, it's like a rush of emotions, hope mixed with a certain sadness, it's sublime. I'd never really listened to classical music closely and it's not even a genre I'm use to, but Jesus Christ, I just fell completely in love with it

They played this song collection for my daughter in the NICU. Calmed her right down and let her sleep well. She’s home now and still loves listening to it.

Feeling goosebumps all over my body, also the young lad who's playing violin looks so emotional and on the verge of crying.

I can't find words to express so much majesty, in the performances, of these talented musicians, engineers, arrangers, etc. They are the best.

Tchaikovsky. Swan Lake. A terrific rendition. Great performance. And young people appreciating music as an art. Nice. Very nice.

Bravo. Beauty still exists in Music. The Conductor is superb in her Directions. So clear to follow her. Brilliant. Cheers, John (Australia)

the director is a real inspiration for all the women who dedicate themselves to music, the smile outlined while driving the baton is really great

Must add another word. I think that the role of the conductor is the most difficult (almost un-human) to listen and to adjust to all the part and bring to such harmony its an unbelievable job!! All the parts here are played wonderfully, Bravo to the Conductor!!!!

Wow! I never knew how beautiful this was!! A truly virtuosic performance!!

The solo violinist here, plays that part more gracefully, and with better tempo than I hear on 90.9 WGUC. I'm so used to these kids, that professional orchestras don't compare!

Absolutely stunning!! Such a wonderful performance!

The year is 1880 and it's your first time to go to a grand ball. You know what this ball is all about: party, fashion, socializing, and enjoyment. There you saw guests are in their best mode, the ladies are shining and dangling in their gorgeous outfits and the gentlemen are way more handsome than usual because of their formal attire. You danced, and danced, and danced with the music. The drinks are served when you got thirsty. As the music covered the entire hall, you thought to yourself, this is what life is all about.

For at least so young people, this performance is simply terrific. Poland, you can be proud and happy!

i can’t explain how much i love tchaikovsky.

This young orchestra never fails to impress me with their awesome performance. These musicians are so talented and played with such passion. Really enjoyed the performances!

Slavic beauties masterfully playing Tchaikovsky from the heart... Natural!

My soul reaches a higher level with this masterpiece!!!

This performance is raw. Edgy, jagged almost. Superb.

I live in Florida USA, and where so much of the music we hear today here in Florida is nothing more than noise, it is a pleasure to hear real music that will never die or become outmoded from change of style !!!

Wonderful performance and the female Director is really good, very gracious and very talented!!!

I loved the conductor’s expression!

The oboe intro to this peice is probably the best music written and must be so darn hard to play!!! Tchaikovsky. The king of melancholy.

I appreciate Tchaikovsky's work, I discovered swan lake in the barbie movie, nowadays when I hear these beautiful melodies it reminds me of my childhood. Tchaikovsky was a genius both ballet and music enchant me.
