Swampfox Sentinel Red Dot Sight: A Waste of Money
In this video, I will share my honest review of the Swampfox Sentinel Red Dot Sight, a compact and durable optic for pistols and rifles. I will tell you why I regret buying this sight, and what are the pros and cons of using it. I will also show you how the sight failed me in some situations, and why I think it is a waste of money. If you are looking for a reliable and affordable red dot sight, you might want to watch this video before you buy the Swampfox Sentinel.
I tested this dot in many lighting conditions to test out the auto brightness feature, and it failed in almost all of them. Looking into a bright room from a dark room makes the dot almost invisible, and same with being in the dark in general, or using a wml in the dark. It's only really going to be good for a range toy gun that you don't use to defend your life with or EDC.

Have an auto model on a g26. For the price and purpose it works good. It gets shot once in a while to make sure it’s still zero. I wouldn’t mount this on a run and gun pistol or for hard use. That’s the sacrifice for the good price point. $100 vs $300+ 🤷🏻♂️
I have the manual version and its pretty good.
If you were using that protective cover it blocks the ambient light sensor on the side which may explain why the dot was not visible. Even without it, manual version is better.

The cover doesn't block it for me. Tried with it off too.
Yeah well that's what happens when you get the auto when you should have gotten the manual.

Haha, I have the EPS Carry for EDC. I just wanted to give the auto a try, and imo if it performs this horribly it doesn't need to be sold or bought. Auto functionality performed about as I and anyone else expected. Another side note, there are drop tests for this red dot, and it broke on first drop on rocks for the one I watched.... Makes the extra shield necessary, but that also removes ability to use the iron sights, because you can't see over the optic. Anyways, why trust your life on this when you can get a much better optic for less than $100+ more?
It is a waste of money. I got one and no matter what it wouldn’t zero.

I forgot if I mentioned this, but the turrets didnt rotate to as many degrees as other sights on mine.
I have had my sentinel for over 5 months now on my edc I work construction it’s constantly getting beat on I’ve dropped it racked it off counter tops etc no problems. Must be user error

In what way do you suppose any of this was user error? For durability, there is a vid showing it break and shatter in one go from standing height. I didn't try this myself as I wanted to return the unit.
Auto brightness needs to have the sensor unobstructed.

Turn up your volume my guy. Also, wear that hearing protection and double up indoors, it'll help with your hearing problems, or at least stop them from getting worse.

@@M_Ryze Just a heads up. If you want to create content, work on better sound, speaking clearly and confidently. Volume hasn't changed from all the other videos I watched and yours was rough man. Just a tip, good luck.
