Swamp Thing by Alan Moore Volume 1 of 6 (1984) - Comic Story Explained
Ойын-сауық
Full Comic Story Recap for Swamp Thing by Alan Moore Volume 1. Alan Moore made his debut in the U.S. comic book industry with the revitalization of the horror comic book THE SWAMP THING. His deconstruction of the classic monster stretched the creative boundaries of the medium and became one of the most spectacular series in comic book history.
With modern-day issues explored against a backdrop of horror, SWAMP THING's stories became commentaries on environmental, political and social issues, unflinching in their relevance. This video covers Swamp Thing Vol. 2 - Issues #20-27 (January 1984 - August 1984).

Link to my Swamp Thing video covering everything Pre-Alan Moore if interested: kzread.info/dash/bejne/loF5scFsk8nUpJs.html If you want to go right into Moore's run, my Character Breakdown may be enough context for you, starts at 1:47. My actual coverage of his run starts at 10:03.
One of the joys I have in my life is waiting for 3+ vids of a series to build up on Danny's channel, and then have a better day at work because of the content he puts out. Thanks a million Danny.
I love the "archival" way you chose to present these comics, and the care you took for those wanting to skip the "background" before Moore. Best work so far!
10 mins In and the Moore run is 1000x better than what came before. Nothing against those writers of the past series though I love how wild their imaginations got

How is it better? I’m trying to try into this
I’m home sick this Sunday and you made my day. Thank you for doing this! Swamp Thing and HELLBLAZER are my favorite DC series.
Just discovered your channel as I'm finally tackling the Alan Moore Swamp Thing run. Great timing!
I am a manga reader, I have read manga for most of my life but this year I gave a chance to westwen comics, I am reading The Swamp Thing and it is really a good comic, very nice art style and plot. I am engaged. Now, I am not a native English-speaker so I sometimes struggle with the language because the vocabulary used in the comic is pretty sophisticated at times but still I enjoy the story.
Wow...Amazing New Arc!! What a Groovy Start ,Continuation and Wacky plot revelations twists!! Trully Moore did managge to take it to a new brand level!! Simply marvelous!! Poor Floronic man, from a Pacific cientific explorer to radical natural presercer lunatic. Neat way how Swamp Thing stop him and also how Team UP with Etrigan the Demon! I really love this new direction and i cant wait the returned reanimation of Anton Arcane! Again! Lovely previously reecap, Review and cómic dub!!
Clicked this so fast 💚 Definitely excited for this run!
Can you imagine Gulliermo Del Toro having translated this storytelling from Moore?
I like the character breakdown you do at the beginning. thank you for your work.
Swamp Thing is needed right now and the DC Universe and it has so many meanings and it can open the door to so many different things that the DC World wants to do
I can't wait for swamp thing in the DC movies

James Gunn will ruin it.
Fantastic narration! Thank you.
"Selena doesn't like the lawn furniture". This couple is so real in their mundane horridness. Selena, viewing what her awkward ugly purchase has done - costing a man his life when it couldn't be secured - throws the responsibility right on her husband. BTW, I am so glad this volume contains Issue 20. The compilation I bought years ago started right on 'The Anatomy Lesson' and issue 20 is a good transition between Moore imitating to an extent Pasko's style so he can clear out the baggage. Liz and Dennis return years later in a sad situation that picks up right from here.
Accidentally woke up early but this made up for it
Your the man homie! Love these break downs
Ngl would kill to see you cover all of HellBlazer
Sunderland in the end was suffocated by Swamp Thing. It appears that some prints of that issue, including the original one, showed his feet and kicking and struggling. Here at 30:04 they modified it so it is just his feet dangling.
Only Alan Moore can take a character like Swamp Thing and make it interesting.

I wonder if it's an inspiration for what Neil Gaiman did in Sandman. Actually, willing to bet since they both use Constantine

Nah, Swamp Thing was interesting before Moore.
Thank you🥰😁
In my country I don't remember of seeing anything before Anatomy Lesson being published. And I believe the editors wanted to publish up until the involvement of the Justice Legue as a filler for the format of the comics here. It ressonated so greatly that Swamp Thing got it's own comic afterwards.
The 1hr and 50 min video was good, that 2nd run went off a cliff real quick. Good on you.
Awesome
Thank you
Pretty good. I liked the connections.
Bro never stop I love your channel
Hell yes!!
Great video as always Danny love the content man! Also wiill you cover Mark Millars "Huck" ? I wasn't sure if you would but i figured id ask since "the big game" is coming out soon.
@dannymalt
Жыл бұрын
Yes, planning on covering Huck. Might be after I finish Swamp Thing.
This was sweet 🎂
Sir, you should have A LOT more views!
Hey Danny! You think the show SWAMP THING made by DC Universe (when that streaming service existed) was a good adaptation? i mean that was my first introduction to the charater and i gotta say i was impressed. They made a character like "Floronic man" actually work and be scary.

Haven’t watched it, but I’m planning to check it out.

That’s on my list of things to cover one day.
33:47 there is also *The Blue* , but its very stupid, it has to do with flight and only one person from Earth 2 ever taps into it!
@dannymalt
Жыл бұрын
Lol, really. Never heard of The Blue.
@OverStarter
Жыл бұрын
@@dannymalt because its stupid! and only ever used like ONCE! Overshadowed by Harvey Dent the ultimate human!
Funny that Alan Moore named the boy recording Floronic Man Anslinger - Anslinger was an American DA who prosecuted drug cases qnd really went after abolishing marijuana - reefer madness stuff lol wonder if theres a connection there?
@almightyyt2101
Жыл бұрын
Of course there a connection writers control every detail
Who spotted John Constantine in the scene?
Exactly as Alan wishes he was
U can see the different. The art is better as well with better angler
Anarchy is not horror and violence; that is government and capitalism.
Spoiler:No Spoiler, love with Swampthing comes to Gotham. Keg in Smith done a “radio play” version on one of his podcasts many years ago.
