Watched with high expectations and holy shit, it set the bar even higher from what I was expecting, specially Haley Bennett. This film made me realise how ridiculously underrated and underused she's as an actress, she's extraordinary on this film.

I can't believe how real the reaction, the lines, the development of character's psychology are. I had an issue with control too (not about eating weird stuff) and I was in denial that it was a big deal. It happened during the time when I was lonely and not have much work to occupy myself too. I felt out of control, and crave to be in control, so I started adopting obsessive behavior that even I myself cannot fathom, but I don't want anyone to find out. When I finally plugged up the courage to reach out for help, I thought everyone was just being overdramatic but am now in therapy to fix my disorder. Watching this is pretty uneasy because I feel like being called out. Please, anyone with any type of mental illness, reaching out and vocalize your fear, obsession, disorder to your trusted one will be the milestone that can change your miserable life. So speak up, you are stronger than whatever the "urge" in your head is telling you to do.

proud of you for speaking up. I too had an issue i couldnt control. Last year I became an alcohol. Honestly, I cant remember alot of the year but things I do remember are terrible fights, crying myself to sleep, unintentionally hurt the ones I love but I never noticed how bizarre I was acting until I did something awful. It took me a long time to recover and to this day Im still not 100% healed but am in a much better place. Its just awful that a huge amount of people dont notice whats happening to them either until it is too late or to the point theyve lost so much. Im happy you saught out help. It takes alot of strength. I never went to therapy so I have alot of unhealed trauma and anger issues but I feel everyday I am improving although occasionally I will have some breakdowns. Proud of you, keep going!❤

The film is a major eye roll in the first half hour because you’re set up to think it’s going to be about a poor unappreciated 50s housewife (which she’s dressed like even though this is set in modern day) but then she lies to everyone then pouts about it- yet she stays because she wants to keep living on this mans dime. Otherwise why stay? She’s the villain and bc the movie follows the villain some people think it’s interesting. This movie has a ton of flaws and most of all there’s nothing empowering to women about being a meek liar.

The movie is much better than the trailer. Its a very odd and interesting drama with first class acting and some powerful moments with a plot that goes deeper than pica. Because of the mislabelling by IMDB claiming that this movie was a horror, I was expecting her to descend into insanity and start eating people in true horror fashion but nothing of the sort happens because as Rotten Tomatoes has correctly labelled this movie, its a Drama and Mystery Suspense movie. I don't want to give too much away but the ending is probably going shock some people and divide opinion but thinking back, the movie was always going to lead to this conclusion.

It was not mislabeled. It is psychological horror. Hence the plot being so psychologically deep.

Jesus, never in my life have I experienced actual pain in my stomach from a movie/trailer. This is so painfull to watch, but I can't help myself.

Haley Bennett acting in this make the movie great on so many levels. I highly recommend it.

Incredible film, just watched it. It isn't Fincher-like, that's misleading. It's not really a thriller, it's more of a psychological case study. Trying to understand how a person becomes the way that she is, how a person could enjoy a particular way of hurting herself. And how that ripples outward through the circles of people that are in her world. Start to finish, large moments to small details, totally brilliant.

Excellent movie. Yes, it started off slow and kind of weird however the meaning was very powerful. Very interesting movie and thumbs up for me.

It's one of the best movies I have watched in last couple of years, it has a lot of important messages in it, just stop what you are doing and go watch it immediately!

NO STOP IT! 😂Worst chills I have ever had...

I heard about a that would chew on her hair as a habit. Months later she complained about stomach pain that was so bad she couldn't eat. They x-rayed her and saw a large mass in her stomach, she needed surgery. During surgery they pulled out a large mass of hair. It looked really gross but she was able to eat again and have normal bowel movements again.

It's like one of the most beautiful films I've ever seen

It's actually very good film. I wouldn even called it Indie because role-play and direction is top. Watch this movie. It's beautiful. Amazing actress.

Man what a fucking horrible movie in the best sense. I'm pretty emotional person and the performance Haley Bennett had in this movie really fucked me up. The movie is shot so beautifully, i really felt like i was experiencing exactly what it feels like in real life to go through someone who starts doing this, from understanding why she likes swallowing. I've never felt so bad for a character in a movie as i felt for this girl. Many scenes of the poor girl dealing with her husband's family, to her descent into madness. I applaud the director because it's unlike any horror film I've seen, and it's very effective at terrifying me but having very different feeling than what I'm usually accustomed to. Overall i put this in my all time horror movie list. I really can't praise Haley Bennett performance enough. This movie is wonderfully horrible, disgusting, traumatic. With a ending that filled me with hope. for the death of a baby lol, i felt so liberated at the end i chuckled. I can't stop laughing because that movie was painful to watch and my last emotion from this movie is a uplifting feeling. I felt the director pulled the carpet from underneath me. That's another wonderful aspect of the movie is the ending. Fucking crazy

Don't let me distract you but the cinematographer that shot Swallow also shot Denis Villeneuve's Dune alongside with the DP.

They sell it as if it were RAW or that sort of film though it is more like a sad drama movie, than psycho terror. Anyroad beside that, its is quite a good film

This is something extraordinary! Cant wait to see it.

The movie premise is all wrong. Everybody knows it's not a real baby, so there's nothing wrong about swallowing those things while pregnant; duh.

I was being sarcastic with my comment because it's no secret hollyweird is pro baby murder, so I find it ironic that they would make a video about a lady swallowing items that is probably killing the early stage, growing baby inside her. If it's not a "Real Baby" then why does it matter that she is swallowing those things🤨. I get it: fiction, drama, entertainment, but it all is based on values they don't want; soooo wtf🤔.

I had pica... I used to put 'metal,' and 'plastic' in my mouth all the time, usually without realizing (family would always say "spit that out!"). It really was dangerous to suddenly realize I had put a push pin or bobby pin in my mouth, but it didn't make me want to swallow it. Mostly I just wanted to "chew" on plastic or metal textures, and ice too. I've chewed all those items, but I don't think I'll be watching this. It's not that common in people, mostly it's a disorder for dogs.

It's a fascinating movie and perfectly acted by all the cast members. Hailey Bennett is very talented. My only issue is that it's hard for me to like movies if I dislike all the characters. Hunter is no more likeable or relatable than her husband. I don't know if she's meant to be.
